Get a Luna2 and make it the primary card in your cset.ini and its likely that your problems will go away.

Hi
Thats very interesting!
luna 2
Am i then abled to use -> about <- 10 MV like others with a newer scope (15dsp) ?
Or is there a difference between "old scope+luna2" AND "only newer scope"
I´ve got 2 stdm cables xD

yes, the original cards have poorer pci performance. when used with a new card however, they receive most of the new card's benefits...
make sure that the new card is first in the cset.ini file!

so
I´ve cleaned the contacts
I´ve installed windows on a formated HD
nothing helps
Again... could the card cause the error by technical defect?
Is there a tool to monitor the pci bus?
how am i able to be sure, that the card has the old layout?
what are the differences between old scope + luna2 and new scope?
I´m asking because perhaps i buy a new scope then. But if its the same, i buy the luna2

oops - sorry, I forgot about the most simple way of testing the version...
go to the latency page of the Scope settings dialog, ULLI
with a generation one board you can only select from the bottom 2 rows (13ms at 44k and larger), the upper 3 should bring up an error message that the hardware doesn't support this setting.
btw do you (still) have the original software ?
this board was originally distributed with DP (the developement system), afaik for a bundle price of 8.5k Euro
cheers, Tom

If you use a new card and an stdm cable the cards will use the PCI connection of the new card and the improvements this brings. However 2 masterverbs is still funny for an old card, I have a Pulsar1 here (4dsps) and I know I was able to get more than that with the older card(s). It sits alongside a Pulsar2 now though...

Hi
(Now) it official: I suck!
Did the ulli test.
Its the old card!
So now it is important to know what to do.
-> Should i buy a Luna2 or a scope card?
I want to know the difference!
Are there any Problems because only one stdm connector (Bandwidth)
may i be able to come up to 10 MV pro then?

by the way NFR means not for resale. So you got a demo card

I can hit 10 Masterverbs and then I get dsp limit (have 6+4 dsps).
And sorry, by Luna2 I meant its current product name, Scope Home. They're the same card though, just slightly updated software. Scope project wouldn't be horrible either...

Hi
So i got the Luna2.
it is like befor!!!
In samplerate settings Luna2 is shown as first card...
In DSP Window there are three dsps (luna) and then the Scope DSPs
ULLI settings changed to the lowest without Problems!
I tryed to change the Boards in cset.ini
The luna Board is still the first (if i understand right)
How could i change the Boards Priority?
What is the f*kn Problem???
HEEEELP!!!

If the new card is in place and seen as the first card in the system (the manual details how to force this in cset.ini as well) and you're still getting pci overflow issues then perhaps its time to have a gander at pci sharing and/or ACPI/Standard pc issues....

Wooooooohoooooooo
I´ve got the first step ..... tschatschatscha!!!
10MVpro then DSP overload at 70% DSP bar
10MV then DSP overload at 50% DSP bar
Without any PCI error!!!
Text:
A capacity limit of your DSP cards has been reached. The specific cause is:
Not enough DSP memory: cannot connect PC Master 32k Delay.Tap1 and DLEXTM0.ri
It is often possible to solve this Problem by means of a global optimization of the projekt. Would u like .....
It doesn´t help....
I disconnected the IO Plate from the scope.
I will go on testing
thanx a lot to all who was helpin me...
perhaps someone has a tip because : only 10MV and the error text...

Thats very important for those who´ve got the same Problem:
I removed The I/O Plate !!!
That´s not perfect... but I dont need the I/O s .... (for now)

I have a pretty similar setup as yours, and "only" get 12 MV before I get that message. I don't see why you would want to try and get more than this though, as in practice, if you use more than 4 or 5 reverbs in a single project, you mostly likely have no idea how to work with reverb and will end up with mud.
Not to mention that if you actually *do* need more than 10 reverbs, you can more than easily run between 10 and 15 instances of the SIR convolution reverb native plugin on that CPU.
20 MVs was pretty much an upper bound, and doesn't depend ONLY on the PCI bandwidth, it seems to depend on the number of cards and amount of memory on each card and maybe even card generation (I have no technical details on this though.) Not to mention that the motherboard involved is a bit more expensive that the nForce3 motherboards.
Go read that thread again, the average number of MVs across all systems is between 10 and 15, so I'd say your results are pretty normal.
