Hey guys, I have a choice to make.

Waiting for a new scope home package that comes with version 4.5 or

Purchase an used Pulsar XTC card(6DSP) that comes with software and a key for Scope 4 + a Elektra card(3DSP) for In/out purposes? Both are used and if the Pulsar XTC card that comes with a key for scope 4.0 can be capable of upgrading to 4.5 project would sound like a sweet deal that will allow me to have 9 DSP power in total. After calculation, both product together will be cheaper than a normal Scope Project and it would allow me to get 9DSP!!; however, I need to know that I can make Pulsar XTC my main card to use it as a Scope Project card.

After hearing 9 out of 10 people mentioned the importance of DSP power, I am very concerned with DSP power myself being a new user as well.

Thanks in advance

yup,no problems with that idea.

I have a ScopeHome (first CW purchase) and quickly added a PulsarXTC to it for the DSPs.
It works great. I started off within the XTC mode , but have recently switched to using SFP mostly. And the latency I get is like 4ms tracking and then I let it run to the max for mixing 32ms I think it is.

but a PulsarXTC running as a main board with a three DSP board running I/O sounds like a pretty godd setup to me.....I love it
As long, obviously, that you have the right oftware keys for it all..I gots to get me that upgrade(still unsure which tho...heheh)

Cheers

I would get the 9 DSP setup.

You can update the Elektra to 4.5 software for only 98Euro - and it will have the exact same package as the Scope Home that comes with 4.5, but without the wait for it to arrive in stores. I am not sure what you get if you update the XTC card. That's unclear to me from the offer.

I first bought a Luna-II and later wanted more DSP-power so I found a cheap Pulsar-II and later sold my Luna-II.
I have also bought some extra plugins as
- MINIMAX
- PRODYSSEY
- PROFIT5
- PROTONE
- EDS16i

To run more comfortable I found a SRB-Card (+6DSP), which I have heard is the same as 6DSP-XTC-Card. It also looks exactly the same as my Pulsar-II but without the IO-bracket.

I also found a second cheap Luna-II, but have not connected it yet, a friend is borrowing that, maybe want to buy it....

Most plugs are DSP-hungry, or at least, the DSPs aren't very fast.
I tried this:
Loded MINIMAX, I got 12 voices out of my system, which is about 1 DSP/voice, I only had 2448-mixer loaded. It was some DSP-power left, but not enough for one more voice.

Or: MINIMAX 3 voices, PROFIT5 3 voices, PROTONE 3 voices, PRODYSSEY 3 voices and UKNOW 3 röster when it was full again.

Or:
MINIMAX 2 voices, PROFIT5 2 voices, PROTONE 2 voices, PRODYSSEY 2 voices and a secon instace of MINIMAX 1 voice and PROTONE 1 voice.

There is no need for me to buy Scope 4.5 I already have the new offered plugins, maybe I will try to install it soon.

Go for the Pulsar-II if you want to run CW-synths, if you only want a good soundcard go for the Luna-II.
