Well, in the hope of revising this thread, I thought I'd do a bit more research...
So, the "Starting Cubase" box appears, and this time I noted down exactly what happened an when.
- lots of "scanning for plugins"
- when the status window says "initializing: hpipxmui", I get "Error loading the Tcp Mib library", close the dialog box and continue..
- more "scanning for plugins"
- when the status window says "initializing: hptcpmui", I get "Error loading the Tcp Mib library", close the dialog box and continue
- more "scanning for plugins"
- when the status window says "initializing: Sim", I get "Hardware version 12 detected", close the dialog box and continue
- more "scanning for plugins"
- when the status windows says "user32", I get the famous WinXP error box "Cubasesx3 has encountered a problem and needs to close"
*sigh*
So, anyone got any clues how to tackle any of he above?
Failing that, anyone know how to control what plugins cubase scans for?
And finally, anyone know how to get hold of someone at Steinberg who may be able to help?
cheers,
Chris
