I don’t have 6 screens, but use a couple of mirrors to create the “Spirit Effect” and then I feel quite happy, the only problem is that they all report the same information…

Hmmm. I'm getting a bad reputation here. Does it help if I say I work from home, so work & play are all in front of these screens ?

I popped the case and poked aorund a few days ago but it all looked too hard... Anyone done it ? How many hours work ? Any dangers ?
It's not too tricky. Make sure you're not carrying any static (e.g. touch a cold tap), then:
Remove PCI and AGP card(s)
Disconect power, IDE, Motherboard etc cables
Remove hard drives, floppy drive, CD/DVD drives
...you should be left with the Motherboard, memory and CPU at this point...
The motherboard is usually fixed to the case by some small screws. Undo these and carefully remove the Motherboard.
Then reverse the procedure:
Insert the motherboard and attach with the screws.
Insert and connect up the various drives.
Insert the PCI & AGP card(s)
Connect up the power and motherboard cables.
->Good to go!
Of course, all of the above can be achieved with a large enough hammer

Thanks Royston, that sounds pretty straightforward. (As these things usually do). I'll keep the hammer for Plan B.

One daw here, hosting most of the HD space, on WinXP. One laptop as fun tool w
Demudi, from which I connect to a machine on the attick, which runs 24/7 and has a LAN card and a harddisk. The machine on the attick does most web stuff (irc mostly, but also local icecast). It is controlled remotely by ssh and/or freeNX. If I go out and plan to continue some work or just show off, I tell the router so I can take over from any machine that's online.
Legros, you can have yourself tested at

Left behind 97%, only 3% was more nerd. eek.

How do you play tennis with 6 screens?

Can you still see the ball...
