I'm going for the intel d865perl.
I saw it had Raid on it. It isn't a problem for you?
the basic model doesn't have raid, but yes you can always choose PATA/SATA...

that's the one. turn off the onboard sound etc.. raid is supported for the sata connectors, but the board is not configured for raid out of the box. use PATA/SATA. if you don't use SATA drives, you can disable that too.

I would like to have thefirst
one with nothing on it.. Do you know how they call these configurations?

ok, one last question.

I didn't found the 'basic' d865perl. I did found the d865perl with everything on it.
Is the performance the same as the 'basic' if I switch everything off (LAN, RAID, IEEE 1394a) or is it better to keep searching for the basic board with nothing on it? There are not much Intel dealers in Holland it seems... One shop didn't even know Intel boards existed. sigh...

yes, it should work fine with all that disabled, but you'll be paying extra if you will not use lan or firewire in the future. i get those boards online. the prices are better and the board is common.

Today I also did some testings.
So I did this:
Scope S/P pci card in G4 dual1.25 on system9.2

connected with optical cable with RME Fireface 800 like standalone converter to monitors genelec S30D in studio.

I played track from SparkXL thru asio16 bit driver stereo on scope platform routed directly to adat out.
Track that I played sounds much inferior on scope where was slave to Fireface800 because it has superiour word clock(StedyClock-No Jitter) than in the OSX on Peak 4 CoreAudio driver. And when the scope is set on master mode it is even worse.

Difference is this: Stereo is much wider ,high freq. was much more defined and that's why I heard Eff on voice much more better.Dynamic was better too.
Conclusion: Asio driver is not for professional use for shure.
That's why I spent two years trying to make high quality mix and I never succeded. But with LogicPro6 it was peace of cake. That dither system Powr is perfect. No more tiny little sound on 16 bit.Cubase is definitly out ,and it never worked perfectly.I used Cubase since version 2 and it never was flawless like Logic.

Deneb,

First, this is pure bullshit...

Second, this response wasn't related at all with this particular thread.

Third, no need to post the same complains in all the forums here.

Maybe you had problem with creamware and feel revenge by spreading things?

this IS bullshit. also, i can tell from your post that you are NOT an engineer or anyone fit to judge ANY audio product. you are just someone with an axe to grind. if you are happy with your new machine, fine. go use it.

Do you have Ears? Can you notice the difference between recorded audio on Vdat and Cubase???

The mobo (intel d865perl) is working great!
I can run like 15 masterverbs at once without the pci error. (in fact i didn't get it, my dsp's were overloaded.)
