O.K. O.K. Enough of the sheep thing. I'm gonna clear this up once and for all.
Yes, most of us in Wales have at one time or another experimented with sheep sex in some way but the truth of the matter is that Welsh Sheep are really not that well endowed and insist on so much foreplay that it makes the whole encounter hardly worthwhile.
Take my advice and stick with the old trusty Leek. Ah, there's lovely.

Ah, A man of my own era (or perhaps I was a bit earlier with a Korg 700, 700S and an Elka String Synth).
Those were the days:

ELP - Everything inc a Moog modular, Hammond etc
Tangerine Dream - (I'm not worthy)

The other point of course is that all this technology, all these wonderful patches, hardware, software etc, but in the end you still have to write and play the music.

I remember when Cubase VST32/5.1 came out. I went to a demo Steinberg were touring the country with. There was a competition at the end to win a copy and the tie-break question (not more than 10 words) was:
"What would you like to see in the next release of Cubase?"
My answer was "Virtual Fingers"!!!!
I won Cubase and then spent a fortune on a Pulsar II, a computer to run it on and since then loads of money on software!
Still, it was worth it.
I don't think Steinberg ever did add Virtual Fingers to the software, although I did wonder how Eric Prydc wrote "Call On Me"

Ah...fond memories... I remember using 'Creator' around that time too; the forerunner to Logic.

When i finally got round to looking at his PC i discovered Cubase, a Pulsar I and a Pulsar SRB inside.

Sounds like you've got a very generous friend!

Have you checked the ASIO drivers in the VST Multitrack dialog? That's where you should see the Scope ASIO drivers (in the combo box). When installing the Creamware cards, it should first ask you to install the drivers, then the application stuff after a reboot. I usually install Cubase first, then Scope (seems to be the best order).

Which version of Scope & Cubase are you running?

Yeah, you're right Neil, a little bit before my time. I got into music right on Gary Numan (hence my username),Depeche Mode, Human League, OMD etc. Just the pop side of synths. Then a guy started working at my local record shop who had exactly the same tastes as me. He introduced me to the likes of Cabaret Voltaire, Fad Gadget, Colourbox, Fatal Charm, Thomas Leer, Kraftwerk. When i think about it, that guy influenced my musical tastes more than anyone or anything else.

Hee i was just about to say there's a very good musician from the God Numan's old band - 1979 was my year of discovery too - Tubeway Army on TOTP. Bought my first synth couple of years later (Roland SH-09). Well my parents bought it for me

Haven't looked back since.

If you like Mr Numan's sounds then you must buy MiniMax and Profit 5, stunning synths.

Thanks for the advice. I'm not going to bother trying to solve the problem on the old pc. I am gonna wait to build the new pc and start from scratch but i will follow your advice when installing the cards again.

I am using Scope 4.0 and Cubase SX 1.06

If you are going to build a new pc, then checck the tech-forum before you buy! Creamware cards are pretty sensitive to which motherboards and chipsets they are put together with. Then when you have decided on a computer-configuration, list it here and make the oldtimers here give you the green light before you buy.

This will save you a lot of headaches!

You mean... the "meadow ladies?" Even us lowly American's have heard the majestic wonder of these creatures, and laugh hysterically every time. Although, I have my doubts about similar restraint in Iowa and Kansas over on this side of the pond.
