it's not xtc mode that's the problem. if it's not a hardware issue, (lan cards, scsi, irq....) then it HAS to be a software issue(corrupted files?). i just used that reverb last night with a client and it worked fine. that motherboard should be just fine as well(unless it's broken)......

hi again

thank you all for help.
i finnaly set my board to use PIC mode, reinstalled windows XP, without SP2 now.
also reinstalled creamware programs, by the way, i have used SFP3.1c, now i downloaded Scope 4 and installed clear.
what i got now?
really fast system, but what about REVERB, like "The same eggs, only on the other side",
no changes.
i have an external TSR-12 mutlieffect by Digitech, but i want more then 1 type of effect in same time...
(I fall on my knees and I start to cry..)
i read (i dont remember where), that pulsars REVERB needs more then only a DSP, its need PCI channel and memory.
i have 512mb x2, may be its not enough?

should be enough memory.
the pulsar1's pci usage is much poorer than the p2/scope project's. i'm suprised that you are having this poor performance though. i would expect to get at least 4 or 5 masterverbs. what else is installed on your computer? that IS an agp card right?

yes, i have an AGP card
1) Radeon 9200 by Gigabye, 128mb DDR
2) Pulsar I (gen. 1) (4 dsp) (ADATx2 to A16)
3) SRB (4 DSP)
no netwok, usb, firewire, raid, scsi.
3 hdd IDE drives, 1 CD-RW IDE, no floppy
1 keyboard, 1 PS2 mouse.
and almost forgot

1 display 17"

this is my configuration

Hi All,
I've got same 875, same GFX card, same P1 and SRB (+ Luna II), USB only for cubase key, nothing else external, and 1 Gig DDRRAM.
Work's fine here. SOoooo.....
May be the reverb is corrupt after all?
OR if you can use it in XTC, there's a fault with the SFP installation. Or your sequencer is doing something to choke your PCI flow (so to speak)
Is there anything happening in the background that you haven't switched off? Virus protection, firewall.
Sorry, I'm no IT expert but just thought you should know my hardware works OK.
Good Luck
Oh, should say that I don't use SP2, only SP1

Man you are good!!!!
may be my Sonar 4 is the problem!!!
when i'm moving something (windows, plugins) by mouse, i get the PCI error.. i need to check with other program..
what can you advice me?
for PC, cubase, logic?

sonar should be good. there may be a problem with graphics if you have problems moving windows. try uninstalling/reinstalling your graph card.

Hi again!
i tried all things!
my reverb cant work without PCI problems
even i loaded 5 times chorus, flanger, distortion, eq.. everything working very GOOD!
please what do you can advice me to use in VST plugins reverb?
whitch? and my ASIO2 latency is 13ms..

have you tried the demo of another reverb ?
maybe that device is corrupted, the memory doesn't work as supposed to, or some other system problem outside SFP.
It IS worth checking as there are really nice and great sounding reverbs for SFP, sold way under true value...
cheers, Tom

hi, i tried other reverb and some other plugins, all plugins worked well, except for reverb...
how it can be? i never had "PCI" message on other plugins, even i load 5-7 effects, or synth..

bad motherboard? incorrect bios settings? graph card problem?

i'm sure, that problem is in Pulsar card..
i changed everything.. from MOBO, CPU, VGA, MEMORY, WIN98/XP, even power suply
thank you all

i just need to buy new Pulsar card,
or may be i'll take TC Powercore

Just for curiosity, why don't you try P-100 or A-100 Warp's & Sonic Timeworks reverb demos? They are much more pci intensive than Masterverb, but they could reveal something about the Scope installation files in your system...
The fact that is the card I can't believe, the problem should arise much more with other stuff too, one Masterverb is not that threat, and a defect in pci bus communication should make the card unusable.
Try those demos and make a report...

thank you for advice!

i will try them..
but, i tried other reverbs, i got the same error PCI..
it's only reverb effects.. other plugins working very stable.. on 90%-95% DSP usage

it's a natural matter of fact - the PCI bandwidth issue affects only reverbs and delays - nothing else.
I'm not sure if this is the exact reason, but the data written to mobo Ram (the DSP onchip memory is too small) has to be back on the card for output precisely in time. So at least a part of the bus must get locked - and it's a bidirectional transfer (!).
Since the old cards are slower they (have to) lock for larger time segments, which will interfere with the bios and OS bus arbitration more often.
A 2nd generation card is faster and thus can squeeze it's data segments better in between the stuff already running on the bus.
The PCI latency timer (in BIOS) affects this, but opposed to the commonly known ASIO latency. The larger the value, the more 'demand' is put on the PCI bus.
It's a well known trick from graphcard and network card builders to yield high benchmarke results. They almost steal the bus by setting a high PCI latency value for their own devices and so locking out others.
cheers, Tom
ps: I agree with Alfonso - the PCI bus is such a sensible item this single fault seems almost impossible. nevertheless your values are completely out of any reasonable range...

yes, sure

thank you anyway
if i move from ASIO2 to WAVE24 bit
then i can use everything, but latebcy in VSI instruments is terrible

ahhh, now we're getting closer...

you remove ASIO and the PCI capacity message doesn't show up (at the point it used to) ?
curious, Tom

yes, without ASIO its working good..
tell me please in cset.ini i have
[hw]
intBlkSize=512
numboards=2
maybe i need set larger intBlkSize? i tried 1024 (with ASIO) it still messaging PCI..
