When I was so young like you I might have been also restricted by the marketing. Better to stop the TV - sometimes

The deal about samplitude is- it really is an audio sequencer with excellent mastering capabilities. Although the midi editor might be be better - samplitude is a great tool esp. when it comes to recording and live recording (e.g you plan to record a concert of your band live and direkt - not the stereo sum - all instruments separately using of course different channels for the drums of your drummer and son on).
Und ich wohne in Dresden, bin allerdings gebürtiger Wessi - und nein, ich bin kein Rechter

Better to start a new topic by theat problem...anyway, 1st check that your audio cd is noct protected (BMG Copyprotection or else)
2nd Push the button list of all drives, which looks like an HD - select your cd drive and the content should be displayed. Now push the button with the 2 red arrows (in Playliste übernehmen und kovertieren), select the desired format and hit start. Now select the drive letter of your mp3 stick and copy the files like you know it from everywhere in windows using ctrl+c followed by ctrl+v
Anyway - a pulsar system is not as cheap as samplitude, but there`s still the option smaplitude for rent, see
http://www.samplitude.de/de/sfr_AD.htm
which maybe an option for people like us who couldn´t spend so much at the time.
