For what I can read on the manual that can be downloaded from cwaudio, it only recognizes 16 bit files. The 32bits are only in it's internal engine....can't understand what's the purpose of it, not music production for sure....

it's purpose is radio, tv and film production. it is not the tdat replacement,but frank had said(b4 the chaos or b.c.) that it was the core of the new tdat,possibly a cwa sequencer for scope as well. he also said ,other cool things like maybe a tdat user could contact cw and....
that was the gist of it but remember,NOTHING WAS PROMISED so no flames because of this post,please.

This is kinda funny (or sad, depending on how you look at it)...
I came across an old Pulsar brochure the other day issued in late 1998. It must have been one of the first brochures for Pulsar because it shows the original Pulsar 1 board with the 4 SHARC processors.
Inside the brochure are a few paragraphs related to tripleDAT. One paragraph in particular caught my attention:
"We have worked out an upgrade plan for our existing users to upgrade to our new technology. When you look at Pulsar you will ask - where is the hard disk recording? Well, we're developing a brand new generation of hard disk recording software that is based on SCOPE technology. Scheduled for release in QIV 99 (in about one year from now), the next generation HDR software will replace the recording software of today and offer significant improvements over any hard disk recording software known. Let us surprise you!"
The only thing that was surprising to me personally was how long it's taken to actually release something.

Interesting....
Over the years, there have been many things mentioned that never came to fruition.
When I bought my pulsar 1 about four years ago, I remember creamware was working on some sort of built in automation.
whatever happened to that?

The automation is what I'm interested in finding out about too. Something with better resolution than midi.

What other than MIDI can I send out from Sonar? RPN? Well, that's MIDI too, but it has a far higher resolution than controllers.
