I glad progress slowed. I no longer have an urge to upgrade every year.

Mmmm, interesting… So the best buy would be to get the latest rev of a new motherboard, but to achieve it, you have to know when they are releasing the last update, he he, that’s crazy, don’t pay attention to me…

Hmm,

The best way is to spill water on it, then get a new one. Wait no, that's what I did once. You'll be without a system for a while. Bad idea :D

the best thing to do is get some stuff that works well together and use it. no need to worry if there might be something else out, because there will be. for musicians and audiophiles, the point is not how cool the computer itself is, but whether or not it can do the job that it needs to do.

once you have a machine that easily records and edits music, what else is there?

computers suck. they're just another siphon of time and energy. they can be an excellent tool, but they're best at wasting time while saving time. :)

computers do make many things that would be impossibly expensive, possible, and i like that.

Not to mention that the era of needing a bleeding fast PC for audio use is well passed. Unless of course you're doing 5 racks of VEPro with hundreds of channels of orchestration being mixed 'ala Hans Zimmer...

well, then you have the budget to make it someone else's problem, and again it's just about a working machine. :D

Those are interesting thoughts brothers.

This process is been rather slow... In the other hand, my old computer is getting worse by the minute, giving me blue screens of all sorts now and then. It was just about time to do this upgrade. Well, let be patient, I am getting there.

I will be getting a new MOBO in not time... Let’s play a silly game, I will let you guess which one it could be… I will give you some clues about it and you have to guess.

It is not the same brand, so, it is not Asus anymore. It has a Z97 chipset so to use the M.2 slot that it comes with it. It is more expensive but not that much. It has great reviews. It has one of the main characteristics a bull has. Of course, it has two PCI old slots. Well…, let’s see if you can guess… :P

You don't really need a top-of-the line motherboard to run Scope. Mine is probably worth about 40 USD right now :D

oh yes! I do remember something like that!

I have a MacBook for those things :D And for email, planetz, and browsing :D It's 3.5 years old and still fast as hell. Quad core i7 2.3GHz. GT650 with 1GB :o 16GB RAM. Don't wanna say how much I spent on it...

I did look for Z97 at my local computer shop's website. Let me have another look :D

The SR-2 was just a joke. I don't think you need 4 way SLI

Well, this time you got really, really close… It is a Gigabyte yes, and it is under the model GA-Z97X as you suggest, but you need to find out the extra line… which is…

Which is one of the main characteristics of a bull? That it is black! "Black Edition". I know, it is very silly, but now I’m laughing…

Well, of course it has two PCI slots to accommodate the two Pulsar I, otherwise it would be useless.

I have ordered this one: Gigabyte GA Z97X UD5H BK.

Dawman recommended me to get an Asrock for best performance, but it is difficult to get Asrokc boards in here, so I've got something similar in performance.

http://www.expertreviews.co.uk/pcs/moth ... -bk-review

It is a very stable board, which is what I want above all.

Looks like a nice board. I'm pretty sure mine is black too, but I prefer blue :D
