Ahahaha. Your chip is already running at 4.0, I think that's fast enough

Yes, it runs at 4.0 just like that out of the box, but I will probably OC it to 4.4 anyway, which is the preconditioned OC speed for this processor, without stressing it at all. I don't think I will be beyond that in any case. 4 cores running at 4.4 is powerful enough for most tasks.
I was surprised to learn that pro audio projects can stress a system in the same way or more than a 3D project does, I would have not believed it without the proper testing, but it is true. Heavy synths like Diva, real time processors and many big sample chunks like those used in Kontakt, can definitely squeeze every bit of power of a system, just like a 3D project would.

It's never enough. I need to turn tracks into audio usually. Mine is not as fast but I am sure I would use up the power on any system.

Believe me, for me it's going to be fine...

Let’s say I have been wearing an S size shirt for more than 10 years while I am XL, but now I’m going to jump straight to an XXL shirt with an extra large sleeve, and the shirt is made of silk… it will definitely be enough for me.

I've got a Intel Celeron G1820 Haswell Dual-Core 2.7 GHz LGA 1150, which is a fourth generation processor, so I can upgrade the MOBO to the fifth generation, inmediately sell it, and install the i7.

Got the Celeron, but not the 1820, but the 1840, it was the only one left. I'm starting right now.

Hmm,
Where are you located? I'm in a small town in the middle of nowhere and there's a big computer shop here that usually has many things in stock. This shop put all the other 10 crappy ones out of business. I always go there!

Well, this crappy CPU is of no much use today, few people will actually build a PC with Celeron processors like this one, at least in here, because for a few more bucks you can build a much faster machine that will last longer, so there is a rather short stock of them at your disposal.
I am in Argentina, near the capital BA, but just as you, I am located in nature, we love much being here but with the inconvenience of being rather far away from big shops. Anyway, I prefer the peace, the silence, and the absence of smog.
I will be updating here about how the process goes…

Hmm, Argentina? I've heard of that place. Is it somewhere over the rainbow? No, this town is small, but it keeps getting bigger and bigger. It was less than 40,000 people here about 20 years ago, now there are over 80,000 people living here! We have everything local. No need to drive far. Just google Newmarket Ontario

I just blew a lot of money on a WD My Cloud.
They told me at the store it will work with my Mac and my PC.
Yes, it works. But seems horribly slow... Hmm. Timemachine is backing up my my SSD right now...
I haven't used a hard drive for some 5 years.
Most of my important stuff like my 8 years worth of photos are on some USB sticks and on 3 different MacBooks...

Wow, how much dust you can gather inside your box without releasing it! My old Enermax FMA II was full of it… we should clean up our boxes more often I think, heat is our system number one enemy.
Today I am attaching the MOBO to the box and updating the BIOS from 4th to 5th generation Intel. I’ll let you know.

Do take advantage of the M.2 slot.
As a matter of fact I have an SM951 Samsung brand new I never even opened.
Decided to go with the Intel NVMe devices for all sampling.

Hey it became a spare part for my spare PC.
Years from now Ill be using a watch to play my sounds.
Glad somebody can get some use from it.
Hell thanks to XITE1 my spare PCs are never needed since the real number crunching is SCOPE.

Yes, that is almost true. I started talking to my watch a few months ago. Sometimes it think I'm swearing, but most of the time it understands me just fine. It shows you all notifications so you don't have to pull out your phone while driving. You can easily send a message or read your emails from it. Oh, and the battery lasts about 3 days on a single charge! The CPU in there is a quad core Snapdragon 400 at 1.2GHz or something. I don't remember. I just need it to show me the right time. And it does. I checked it online with the atomic clock and it's always right on.
I am not sure how easy it will be to play on a watch though

Which is the real secret behind MOBOs when they say "revision 1.0", or "revision 1.1", and so on....?
I guess THE questions are: Is revision 1.0 worse than 1.1 and so on? Are there substantial differencies? Do they fix things in newer revisions that are bad in older revisions, or is it just a number related with the release of a particular bunch of MOBOs?
