More food for consideration (or why I am interested in how 'polarizing' this subject, among others, can be):

The young specialist in English Lit, having quoted me, went on to lecture me severely on the fact that in every century people have thought they understood the universe at last, and in every century they were proved to be wrong. It follows that the one thing we can say about our modern "knowledge" is that it is wrong. The young man then quoted with approval what Socrates had said on learning that the Delphic oracle had proclaimed him the wisest man in Greece. "If I am the wisest man," said Socrates, "it is because I alone know that I know nothing." the implication was that I was very foolish because I was under the impression I knew a great deal.

My answer to him was, "John, when people thought the earth was flat, they were wrong. When people thought the earth was spherical, they were wrong. But if you think that thinking the earth is spherical is just as wrong as thinking the earth is flat, then your view is wronger than both of them put together."

The basic trouble, you see, is that people think that "right" and "wrong" are absolute; that everything that isn't perfectly and completely right is totally and equally wrong.

However, I don't think that's so. It seems to me that right and wrong are fuzzy concepts, and I will devote this essay to an explanation of why I think so.

wow, Jimmy! that is one heck of a link. the comments in response to the essay are especially insightful, because many of the commenters are the actual scientists and researchers involved in the debate.

Well as always you follow the stock portfolios, government grants or the money and you shall find the truth.
In this case. When lawsuits are levied at the scientists who fake the data for larger grants, the grants are held up by court injunctions, then the usual Uncle Sam saying we know nothing about this person, blah,blah,blah, just like a CIA operative caught behind enemy lines...............We Know Nothing...Not Our Fault..........Rogue Agent.

So in order for these guys to keep the grants and cash flowing the choices are this....
Continue lying and lose the cash....or admit the falsehoods, keep the money, and come back a few years later and try again to decieve the peasantry.

Problem is we know better. The internet will eventually be controlled like CHina does.
Obama already is pushing for this type of control on information.
The SEC already has had laws passed w/o our knowledge where public information can be trapped in decision making committees for years. Similar to the JFK and RFK assassinations.

Eventually the multi billion dollar carbon trading bills will pass. Its designed to enrich the feds and line the pockets of the early adopters like the Reverend Al Gore.
His private Jet flights will be offset by tree planting in SW Asia or some jive ass crap.
There's just too much money behind these scams for them not to pass the bills. The CME already has 7-8 Billion in profits this year.

So this scam is only on hold.
