Re: Swine Flu - what is going on?
Yeah, people accept a lot of ways to die that are unnecessary, including cancer, etc.
They are already implementing collision detection in some of the more expensive models.
I think Mercedes and Volvo are doing this - have to check. Have already seen the ads on TV.
Won't prevent somebody from side-impacting you though...

i don't require a higher authority to protect me. just allow me to protect myself.
Re: Swine Flu - what is going on?
Yes the expensive cars have them usually. It might not help you if the car behind you doesn't have it. The networking I am talking about isn't available in any cars and all or most cars would require it to be effective. A lot of accidents cause a chain reaction, also traffic could move much more quickly and efficiently if vehicles were in contact with each other.
Gary would like to do away with all safety standards. That is not the kind of America I would like to live in. Hopefully we will become more like Europe now and the government will actually care about people.

Re: Swine Flu - what is going on?
I would rather the Government track released murderers and Petafiles w/ GPS than some silly collision technology.
Complacency from overdependance on convenience is dangerous.
We already have morons using GPS to drive them down one way streets and railroad tracks.
I avoid drivers on their cell phones, people who hug the yellow lines and women with big SUV's that drive while they put on thier make up.
I don't think I need a Government that after 6 months can't count their votes in the state of Minnesota providing me with real time driving tips.............No Thanks.
I'd love to see the usefulness of such a device @ 4:00PM on the 405 in SoCal on a Friday.
Wait maybe the Government can adjust the distance for us during rush hour traffic too.
Say from 50 feet down to 10 for bumper to bumper, and re adjust as traffic thins out...........Brilliant.
Perhaps sliding panels on our seats in rush hour so we can take a crap too.
I used my windshield fluid container as a Jagermeister resovoir for a better driving experience in Vegas. Simply re routed the washers hose through the ashtray where frozen shot glasses could be instantly filled. I am still waiting for that patent to be approved though.

Some cars have nitrous oxide tanks, but Jimmy's car has an ether tank and a quick release mechanism for filling the interior with happiness.

Re: Swine Flu - what is going on?
Actually I want this adapter below w/ your excellent Can Conrol.
Just dial in the buzz and cruise. Then....Maybe........I might consider an anti-collision GPS device................Wait......I'll need the Government to adjust the buzz though....NOT !!!

Re: Swine Flu - what is going on?
That's something from recent news headlines, it's being targeted at a method to 'calm' your child when at the dentist or hospital (the mouthpiece slowly dispenses the drug while the child is 'happily playing a game'). A great statement on our modern schitzophrenia (the same parent is presumed to be aghast a few years later when they discover their child is 'on drugs', no?).Neutron wrote:it will never sell unless the headphone strap gos around the back of your head where it can be less useful

Re: Swine Flu - what is going on?
yeah, screw GPS and wireless - no more need for someone else tracking your movements - just build anti-phase/reverse-field repulsion phase-bounce mechanisms in and nothing will hit nothing.

Re: Swine Flu - what is going on?
I'm not worried about people tracking my movements. I use the internet. I have a friend who pays $100 a year for a proxy server. He has nothing to hide. He is just paranoid. He is not clinically insane but to me he is insane. You don't even need to use the internet, credit cards, or a car if you don't want to. I don't use my real name on Facebook and people find that odd. I'm sure Facebook knows exactly who I am though.
Re: Swine Flu - what is going on?
yeah, you don't need to live if you don't want to be tracked. you always have the choice to die.
Re: Swine Flu - what is going on?
Its a bit late, but i heard a great name for this flu.

I coudn't agree more to your wordssiriusbliss wrote:I better not drive in my car anymore, 'cause lots of people die in car accidents everyday.
More people have died from the regular flu anyways.
Just stay healthy, and do NOT take the vaccines.

The kitchen stove is is blinking for the second time within a week because the electricity went out. The cumbling antiquated infrastructure is a direct result of the Reagan revolution; idiotic republicans and those who voted for them! Global economic disaster because of financial institutions running wild with no oversight. This is what you get when there are no regulations!
Re: Swine Flu - what is going on?
baloney.
who's guarding the henhouse, "regulations" or no? that's right, it's mr. fox.
in California, it was democrats not republicans who voted for deregulation. why do you continue with your demagoguery? who do you work for?
regulations will ultimately be for you, since the regulators are the owners of the systems that need to be regulated. just put solar panels and/or wind turbines on every building and in every yard and there'll be more electricity than you can stomach. the system is antiquated only because those who run it don't and won't ever care about you.
if i subscribe to your feeble world view, humanity can't possibly have survived all those tens of thousands of years, especially the ones before civilization, since you think people are completely helpless without thier "betters" to show them the way. after several thousands of years of "help" from these crooks, you may be right, maybe we are all helpless little children who need to be burped and changed...
oh and by the way, the "financial institutions" that have created this economic mess have been running the government for years, not vice versa, so get it straight. they need to have LESS power, not more...

Re: Swine Flu - what is going on?
By the way, the so-called 'regulators' out here in Demopublican Sociofascist California are the ones trying to get RID of the tax breaks you'd otherwise get for putting solar panels on your roof. They want the greedy Enron leftover utility companies to drive (and regulate) implementation of solar power out here - because they're depending on us to believe we're poor dumbed down hopeless little sheeple that can't fend for ourselves without daddy guberment watching that you don't break something.
Same goes when you try to grow your own garden - watch out for the GMO-owned 'regulators', cause they'll make you rip up your lettuce.
So, go ahead and believe you're weak and helpless and less-than, and keep giving your power away to these morons. See how far it gets you (or has gotten you up to now). Waiting with hands out for the nanny to hand you a sandwich won't get you what you want.
The best shortest path to 'regulation' is to simply stop buying their crap (in more ways than one).
And give up the fake left/right flat-land Republican/Democrat bs. They're all the same bought-n-paid for puppets.
You're on your own. Get smart and 'be the power'.
Right onnnn....
