Masterverb Test Thread
funny picture, indeed
you may have noticed at your earlier test that once you drive the system over the top it will completely unload everything - the DSP meter drops close to zero and the system remains like this until you reset it (by switching samplerate or master/slave).
During the coma state you probably can load whatever you like, but to the surface only - the DSPs don't get activated
looks like you impressed it so much that it forgot about the err message
cheers, Tom
wish it would be different, tho

Ok, an update. I can load 17 Masterverbs on this system in 44.1KHz now, lowest ULLI.voidar wrote:Asus P4P800 SE

Pulsar 2 classic + Pulsar 2 XTC = 12 DSP
.. running on 1 STDM-cable.
I get DSP capacity limit on loading the 17th M.verb, which is what you expecet when reading of the DSP meter.
The DSP meter is actually peaking, showing last LED as red. The 18th Materverb thus gives me a "DSP limit reached" error.
I did a lot of cleaning up. Also set highest PCI setting for both cards in DoubleDawg.
I also re-set the STDM cable, hooking the cards up with socket 1 and 3.
Finally I've changed my system!
the new hardware is
Motherboard: Asrock eSata II
CPU: Intel (core duo 2) E6300 @ 1.8 GHz
Ram 1 Gb Kingstone
Graphic Card: Asus (chipset ati) EAX1600pro
Pulsar1 + Pulsar2 + Soundlaster Live Value
The system is fast (graphic and loading projects) and stable (resolved the occasional clicks and glitches)
With 14 Masterverb I reach the DSP overload message (not the PCI overflow)

Welcome to the dawning of a new empire
Upgraded my system with a Scope Pro. I now have 27 DSP .voidar wrote:Ok, an update. I can load 17 Masterverbs on this system in 44.1KHz now, lowest ULLI.voidar wrote:Asus P4P800 SE

I finally get PCI limit at 19th Msterverb instance.
I can also load 5 STW P100 vers without problems.
Also the system feels faster somewhat running of the Scope hardware.
thanks Roman and Stardust
... but I will retain the full story of the Pulsar Win2K installation - it started as bad as it can get, let alone the intro chapter aka Pulsar in a mini ITX 1 unit 19" box
... the Pulsar is 10mm too long for the EMKO 19" box, what a nice surprise after they needed 4 weeks to get it right with the riser etc. Brute force did bend the czech metal though, only to find out the thingy definetely refused whatever attempt to get rid of a -40db noise floor, nailing into the monitors even with the Pulsar disconnected. I could hear the mouse movements from the mini-itx screen even when the amp was connected to the s/pdif out of the other PC ... but then the onboard audio was perfect ???
'...people should know when they're conquered... would you, Q - would I ?...'
so I wanted the TUSL even better than it was before
It now has a USB2 card, a passive Geforce 6200 with a 1280x1024 (17") plus a 1680x1050 wide screen.
The latter and the classic Cherry keyboard and LogiTec mouse are distributed via a KVM box between a P4, a MacMini and the Tualatin/3-Pulsar team
btw I had 5 masterverbs active and copied a large file over the USB card - no noticable glitches, which really surprised me.
cheers, Tom
