It's not that I don't 'get' the humour Stardust, it's just that I think jokes which in any way involve special children are just totally inappropriate on an internet forum such as this.

of course it's true, it is retarded(the offensive word) to argue on the internet, but then again, better to argue talk and discuss the issue than to stick your head in the sand. that picture is another subtle device to keep people from talking and thinking.

what i was saying was that it was weak to say that you didn't see how offensive the post was because you didn't see the picture. i said calling people "retarded" was just as offensive as posting pictures of such people with the intent of calling people retarded. i said, either way it's an offensive post(which is what zer lives for

).

actually, i DO understand. i don't have a "developementaly disabled" child but my stepson is quite mentally disabled, still(he's very schizophrenic). really, though, you or anyone else shouldn't take the joke so personally, just because it's not. it's just lame.

you can't deny though, "special" people do make funny faces and say and do funny things sometimes....

Sorry if I seemed off hand Gary. My mother devoted almost 40 years of her life to teaching 'special' kids & I respect her for that emmensely.

I don't see that posting a joke picture involving a downsindrum kid is funny never mind allowable.
