Yeah, I'm happy too, this offer seems to be designed to be interesting for almost everyone.
Even if you did not have SnS or MnM you can 'upgrade' to one of both packs, at least you get the new added elements Pro12 and B2003 cq. Masterverb and what was it again.

The Pro12 is considered to be an absolute topper, along with the 4.5 goodies the upgrade is absolutely great already.

Only, and only, those who have every plug including one of the former versions of the just released Pro12 will not profit much, tho even them come home with the goodies of 4.5.

(sorry stardust if this implies you  )

I'd say, great deal Creamware, it's a generous offer that will satisfy almost everyone in da house

Now let's hope it's not the very very last try to get as much mony as possible before they -for some reason- are forced to close the door forever...doom scenario folks, to make you feel even better if it's untrue

I reckon they'd sell all of them in a special bundle then. I mean they could make a hell lot more money doing 200$ packages with like, 4 or 5 "big plugs" (200$ ones) up to your choice or an "everything you don't have" for 400$... Etc..

Anyway, happiness is in my house, I'm off to play with my new puppies. Dang, this Profit12 is so yummy, they could have named it Profiterole !!

sad for you indeed, but then you must be rich
There's only one option for you: be happy for the others...
cheers.

Royston, it seems plainly that some will benefit more than others. The major step seems to be to have upgraded Scope Home users to Pulsar software status, meaning although everyone can benefit in some way, those who will benefit the most are Luna/Home users.
Very true, and I'm more than happy for any user to get a good deal out of upgrading to v4.5.

For myself, I don't gain a lot (having bought most of the devices already) and so will probably pass. I've many other things, both bike- and music- related which I would like to invest in which have a greater priority than getting yet another synth.

To be honest, I haven't yet "learnt" half the Scope- and VST- devices which currently reside on my hard disk and I'll probably never learn them all!

Now Creamware, bring on the 5.0 with EXTC (enhanced xtc), OSX compatiblity and the 100$ voucher for the new Creamware/Bowen OB Xpander...!!
On what Mac's would you use these. Apple have skipped PCI for PCIe, so I'm not hoping for OSX compability before CW launches new SCOPE cards with PCIe...

Me too - I have all the things they put in the bundles - B2003, Profit, Interpole, VDAT - except for Masterverb Pro. It's weird in fact - the synths they haven't put in are the ones I don't have like the ARP and 6 String - not that I'm thinking paranoid thoughts of course

Makes me think - if Creamware were to offer me a substitute of the ARP instead of the Pro-12 (I have the Profit 5 - I presume it's no different) then maybe I'll bite (I s'pose I could try emailing them in hope)

I don't see much use of being annoyed in any way because you already have all, or many, of the plugins that are offered. That's the nature of technology - if you haven't noticed, things are constantly getting reduced in value from when you buy them, and have been for as long as I can remember. In 5 years from now, my gear will be useless, slow, and generally available on ebay for $5. I remember being aghast in 1987 to see that you could buy an Atari 800 computer for $300 instead of $2000. Yes, it would be nice if Creamware did this or did that, but it's their business. Personally, I think that calling this version 4.5 can only negatively affect their credibility as anyone can see it's not a true upgrade but just a bundle of existing software. Why would anyone with such a fine product feel the need to B.S.? Unless there *are* some changes .. I find it weird that they would not be clearer about something like this, but it's not like it's the first business move Creamware's made that others find strange. Again, it's their company.

Thats crap sorry! This upgrade is priced at 98 euro for a limited time only.

Did you only buy your plugs for the resale value?

And for your information this kind of sales practice happens all tyhe time. I gave one example in another thread about my phone but it happens also with property (flats in london) when the last few flats to be sold are taking a long time, mortgage deductions and stamp duty wavers are offered, but you don't see the first wave of buyers pulling out because late buyers got them cheaper...

How can anyone resent a company like Creamware making money?? Scope is still a great concept, have you forgotten?

this is a X-mas special and for a limited time offer.THAT SIMPLE.

End of Jan when this is all over I am sure there will be that one user with the 1/2 ass brain who will call or email creamware and say :I did not update to 4.5 can I still get all the devices for 98Euro??

after end of Jan. There is No more Special for existing users.
So to get those devices you will need to buy a Brand NEW card or pay for each device that you missed in the special/Xmas offer...

each device will have its original price Since most devices are selling for 198 euro that will be the price to pay in Feb 1st if you did not pick up the X MAS /LIMITED/SOFTWARE UPGRADE.....

Where is the devalue of the platform or what you have? In fact they gave more value to you Pulsar 1/II and Luna or whatever DSP you may have. More devices mean more value to your card when you decide to sell.

I saw lots of users selling their original Luna dirt cheap so they can go to Scope Home.

They DONT have to do that now. CreamWare gave you the opportunity to make your old DSP card as equalto the one to be released after the X-mas Special is over.

This move on CWA is really NOT that smart as it won't generate the cash some think they get with 98 Euro. this upgrade is too cheap.
CWA knows nothing about sales to be honest. This update should be at least 300 Euro.
then you can bet they are making money,

I am truly amazed that you 98 Euro will make CWA drive porche and spend their winter in Hawaii.Come on. Get real.

Assume CWA has 35,000 DSP cards out there. Most users have 2-3 cards. that is about 12, 000 users. How many of these guys will upgrade.??

Do you think CWA are offering this to you so they can get rich off your 98 EURO...

cosider the fee taken by the company processing this sale. then take the time ralf and Andre and who ever will spend going throu the emails and issuing keys.
Count the man hours and fees and let see where is your 98Euro equal to when it reaches their bank. now multiply this by the # of users who go for the upgrade.

10,000 Euro ?? What the hell is this the money they are after.

to think about this offer yes it was a naive decision to have it at 98 Euro.
too F**king cheap. They should have offer it for more so they get mo' money out of it.

then we see only serious buyers. less time put on CWA end to deal with the negative emails and bitching and Y ning etc..

You guys HAVE really nothing to do ! meaning too much time for nothing.
I don't see any problem with this 4.5 upgrade period.

And you are exaggerating excessively
Yes, I am exaggerating, in 5 years my gear won't be useless and slow. It will be what it is now, a true marvel of technology (right now it's actually *underpriced* but I imagine in 5 years it won't be). Right now it's easy to say what Creamware should do, and I honestly am puzzled sometimes at their actions, but I don't feel that the problem is really that Creamware is trying to rip off anyone. Accept whatever prices you want - that's your decision. I don't think it's automatically 'useless crap' just because it's marked down - it still sounds good to me! If what you want to do is make a sound financial INVESTMENT, buy stock or hockey cards or something.

ha, yes, I can imagine the CWA folks, happy whistling, working hard to help out all update requests, and they don't have even time to read planetz...
And IF they would read, they would chucle, knowing that we, hardly 25 people, also will soon knock on the door to get this offer, as it is a bargain lol:
