why we now charge for key transfers
Of course the 2nd hand market helps CW. Firstly it means their products retain value, which may influence the initial buying decision. And secondly just because I only bought my first Pulsar1 brand new when it first came out, the fact that I have since bought 2 more cards 2nd hand meant that one of the sellers could upgrade to a PowerPulsar (so more money to CW) and that I have remained a CW customer who has bought many devices over the years (so more money to CW and 3rd parties), because what is the point of all the extra DSP if you dont use and buy more pluginsOn 2004-07-05 21:27, astroman wrote:
point 1 : there isn't even such 'first hand' thing - or why else didn't CWA fix that 50% shop mode for registering SFP 4 -I'm almost certain it will still work...
point 2 : the 'right' to sell software (or better it's use) is more an exception than a rule - not a single supplier will appreciate it, even if they tolerate it to a certain degree.
I frequently buy used records because I'm too lazy to copy and like the artwork.
But that doesn't help the artists at all. Even though I never use filesharing (on the internet - not in the Apple office) I'm in no way better than any 'regular' s*cker...

By harming the 2nd hand market CW is harming the very customers they depend on.
I agree to that point to some degree.
Many 'possible' users don't have any idea what the CWA products are about, I mean what you really get once you apply them - and a low (2nd hand) entry fee might ease the decision of giving it a try.
On the other hand that shot went backwards once with the Luna product...
But (I repeat myself, sorry) the price range of the products IS professional, and professional stuff isn't afforded - it's invested in.
The majority of pro applicants of Scope cards certainly isn't registered on this planetZ - otherwise I'd really be concerned about CWA's future...
cheers, Tom
