does partition magick suck's ?

hello everyone.
i'm writing here after almost two week's
witch i'v try to install and rebuild my new
computer .
again and again i format my new westerndigital 80giga 8mb catch partition it with patition magic and start to install my pulsar2 , matrox dualhead and continue to put all of my project from my old computer
and boooooooom , my computer is crashing
and can't load window.
i'v try it with win98 and xp that i'v used in my old system and nothing helps .
when my system restart it say boot failre and says that it hapend because i have virus or i'm using 3rd party software like patitionmagick to make partition and tell's me to use fdisck to format all over again .
this is the 7th or 8 time that it happend
and i'm realy frastrated from this situation
i only want to make music :sad:
i'm looking for some links for making partition through dos.
pleas some advice or cheerups.

do you have 'virus warning' on in the boot options of the bios ?
I remember something like it should be disabled with PM.

make sure you have the newest bios for your mb (if you're connecting HD to your motherboard) or your ATA PCI card. Sometimes an old bios cannot use newer hard disks properly.

Like mensioned, check your bios if you have virus protection disabled. You'll need to turn this off.

Make sure your active partition is set to your new harddisk.

In DOS, you can use fdisk. It's included in your windows install CD. It may be hard to understand if you've only used windows. Look through the directories on your install CD, it shouldn't be hard to find. If you definitely can't find it, I can send the executable to you.
