===================================
Release
===================================
Began as a model of the Helios console used by Harry J Studios in Jamaica, then continued with inspiration from Sound System Preamps and speakers, to end up as a powerful mix and mastering equalizer that can also be used to create customized bass/mid/high curves..

Highlight is its ease of use by using mainly tuned frequencies. Probably one of the many untold secrets inside many hardware equalizers and famous producers, now adjusted to Scope Sharc DSPs powered by the SpaceF energy ie, very open and transparent information with power to the user at accessible price.

It results in an equalizer with less head scratching and uncertainties = more rational choices because it does coresponds to musical tones, giving many "wow" and "aaah" moments when equalizing sounds and mixes. Overlapping ranges of course.

You will find many frequency tables on the internet, and below is the one used inside Rodin, which covers frequencies from 20.60 Hz up to 19 912,12 Hz. (E0 to D#10). 16 bands inside that interact in various ways customizable by he user. The equalizer can be controller with only 3 or 4 potis through its trimmers.

Also includes a few "atonal" (untuned) bass frequencies at its root (eg, 50Hz, 60Hz, which do not corespond to anything in the frequency tables ...).

Tested on hundreds of samples, songs and mixes in various bass-driven genres, synths, vocals and acoustic instruments during many weeks, further to years of music making/mixing/mastering that led me to do this equalizer.

Made because - eventhough most of us have enough equalizers to not use 80% of them - I needed something really different, precise and efficient.

Also, completely new 3D potis and switches (65 frames animations).

More info later, in a couple of weeks, name of the device may change (should be called something like Prince Fatty or King Tubby but those name were already used ;-) while "MEGA" is too easy (make equalizing great again)...

examples:
41.20 Hz = lowest electric bass note (lower E string) and Sub speakers in sound systems.
82.41 Hz = lowest guitar note (lower E string) and general bass frequency in classical productions (classic rock, reggae , instrument based music)
261.63 Hz = piano middle C
4186.01 Hz = highest piano note

and no, it will not transform a major chord into a minor or augmented one, nor will it remove false notes... It does help making better synth sounds though, that sound clear and present.

it will be highly consistent with 440 hz based music... easy to use, because this is what can really be described as a very musical equalizer..

Welcome back Gordon Gekko. I notice that you found how to register an account :-)

I have a uploaded a demo device (silence every x seconds) on the product page here:
https://spacef-devices.com/shop/rodin-e ... izer-pack/

I am adding the note-frequency table inside the device for the final devices, it's more practical than opening an excel or website, and will let you know when done (there are 4 versions of the device, which makes it a bit long to do).

I've been trying to make videos, but it takes a lot of time, so it is not ready yet.
Please try the demo in the meantime.

Many thanks.

Great, it gives me the time to add a couple of goodies: presets for only the frequency selectors (it allows to quickly save/load "notes" over the whole equalizer without changing the gains/Q/trims), + presets for each section (bass parameters, mediums parameters, and highs parameters).
Will be ready tomorrow :-)

Updated to v 1.1

v 1.1 Available in your account as well as through the "Downloads" menu "Rodin Eq" page.

https://spacef-devices.com/

v1.1 Change Log
===============

** The High Parametric Gain (when unlinked) was not restored in all presets, fixed.

** The Highs' Parametric can now also go to 1760 Hz instead of 1975.33 (it was not a bug), and this larger range will not impact any preset. Logically the shelf 2 should have been set to 3520, but it has been decided to let it at 1760 as it was previously.

** The Bass/Medium/High sub-preset lists now only restore Frequencies, and not the other parameters (Q, Gain etc). The reason is that - to keep the panel simple and not clustered with options - I had to choose between "only F" and "All section paramaters" and "only F" is the most useful in real life when working on a sound, while "All Parameters" is nice but less useful and sometimes frustrating.

** Added more vu meters and margins indicators (under the medium trim), as the device could saturate without showing anything unusual on the main Vus. The vu meters are accessible through the button at the right of "Fat/Med/Hi" label.
TIP: The FAT 2 level which is graphically linked acts on the levels of the mid/hi vu meters. The last vu-meter is the "shelf 2" of the High Section. The first one is the FAT Post drive Input level, and the two vu meters in between show a mix of mids and highs that are most likely to distort. Don't bother: just avoid hitting any Red Led if you need to avoid any raw clipping.

** Added more compelling graphics, in particular to highlight the trimmers (in particular the High Shelf-1 which is also a trimmer when linked to the parametric High band).

** Renamed "Dampers" as "Circuit Dampers" as they are not shown on the Eq curve display but should be understood a bit like "hardware limitations". The real reason is that there is no accurate display for those curves. It would be misleading to show them (and would not have much visual interest as it is subtle).

PRESETS UPDATES
================

There have been a few changes in preset names.
Frequency Sub-presets are also available in the v 1.1 pack.

The new Factory preset list is made for sounds I am working on and which have been very problematic to solve using my Eq arsenal (Pro-Q4, stock equalizers, UAD stuff, Scope/Xite stuff). It is mainly synthbasses and drums, but made for my own mixes, and may not be "generic enough" to fit everyone's projects. For exemple, the digieridoo presets helps getting rid of an annying frequency in a digeridoo sample.

So far, Rodin has been a problem solver due to the frequency, the DSP based, the ability to make and shape curves with the Trims. Give it a go when everything else has failed. Great as the first EQ, makes using Eqs like Sooth, Pro-Q-4, Dynamic Equalizers etc much easier.

TIPS:
=====

- Engaging the 2x on both Pre and Post FAT algos may be a bit too much (always try without, or just one of them).
- When saving presets, it is nice to add the note (eg "Melodica E")
- To modulate frequencies, use the 3rd medium band (220-1760 Hz), it always sound right (and there is no stepping in equalizers, which are naturally lagging between two F values).

Also, I wanted to show in a video, but no time to do it:
- The EQ Range can display curves from 3dB to 48 dB Range. In the 3 and 6dB Range, the curves will never go above 3 or 6 dB of gain, even if the gain is actually higher (the curve stops going up when it reaches 3dB, but you can still add gain with the gain potentiometer). This is a limitation of the EQ Display.
- The ranges of 3 and 6dB are mostly useful when you need to act on very low gain values (like 1 or 2 dB max), for example, when mastering.
