My computer is rebooting since i enabled "NT-APM/Legacy support" I was hoping the computer would shoutdown properly but mine is rebooting. XP was installed as "standard PC".

OK-there must be some wrong settings on my TUSL2-C. According to this:
"Whether or not APM is enabled makes a difference — but the effect could go two ways. Some users report that XP reboots on shutdown if APM is enabled, but shuts Windows down just fine if APM is disabled. Other users report exactly the opposite behavior. According to Jack Dunne, this is similar to a known Windows 2000 problem. The issue seems related to the computer’s specific hardware or BIOS — so, as with all NT operating systems, stick to the Hardware Compatibility List where possible" http://aumha.org/a/shtdwnxp.htm
I have the same hardware and software as with my old BX133-mobo which didn´t have this problem. Hmmm

I had the same problem - tried all the usual APM and power settings under windows but nothing worked. Turns out XP won't shut down if it encounters a dodgy driver on shutdown so it re-boots to try and fix the problem! Try this:
- Right click on "My Computer"
- click on advanced tab
- click on settings under "startup and recovery"
- disable "Automatically restart" under "system failure"
- shutdown windows
Hopefully now you'll get an error screen that will tell you the driver etc that is causing the problem( i.e. xxxx.dll). Do a search to find the problem file and rename it to xxxx.old then try shutting down again - hopefully your PC will shutwon properly now! If it does, then you know it was your culprit.
In my case it was a dodgy graphic tablet driver - once I new what was causing the error I went to the manufacturer's web site and they had a new driver version that fixed the problem. Hope this helps.

Maybe it could have something to do with the chipset updates. Installing the graphics chipset for 815 i get messages that the install failed. Don´t know why. Downloaded the latest drivers from Intel for XP.

Hi again, sorry to hear you're still having problems Bastian. The only other thing I can suggest is a problem with Roxio EZ CD and Direct CD (CD burning software). If you've got this software installed - check for a new version - as it has been known to cause some problems with XP shutdown.
