V8 driver compatibility with current dsp libraries

Post by Peter Drake »

Does anyone doing beta testing have any information on what outside applications still send Scope into BSOD?
If there are NDAs involved feel free to ignore this question.
In my own use case, Kontakt 7 and VCV Rack2 reliably send Scope into BSOD unless I run them as VSTs within another application (Bitwig, Ableton, etc.)

Newer versions of portaudio (oft used ASIO layer that’s open source) and other modern alternatives all do it. I tracked this down to a version of port audio that I can swap out if it’s linked to external DLL rather than compiled internally, but almost all devs that use that lib switched to internally linked about 2012-13.

The apps you mention different libraries and so this won’t work anyway.

Can’t comment on beta, but I think we’re all waiting.
