A very Innu Christmas

Post by Farmerbrown »

I never did figure out the streaming thing. Finally we just shot two camera's live and did post prod edit.

All the sound is mixed live in Xite 1 (those Mackie mixers in the background have nothing to do with the recording!)

Non Innu speakers might want to skip the Chief's address and go directly to 3m 30s mark to hear Claude Mckenzie perform his Christmas concert for his remote community in Northern Quebec (Malioténam). Claude is known for his time in the internationally renown group Kashtin in the 80s and 90s. We are working on a solo album for release in summer 2022.

Full concert:

Excerpts:

Check the channel for other vids of Claude's performance.

Merry Christmas to you all.

Yes, he's very talented. When we started working together I asked him which language he preferred we use (thinking English or French). His reply was "Innu" (his native language)...we laughed. Since then I have only learned a few words...it's a tough language!

Thanks for listening Dante. Hope you have a very Merry Xmas and a wonderful New Year.

Cheers,
