Request a new device/modular module, and hope that some enterprising developer grants your wish!

probably it was already asked in the past...
a modular module to convert frequency generated from sequencers and so on to midi notes. the inverse of MVC, to be more clear... i enter with freq, velocity, gate (on/off) and it generates midi event...
absolutely a must, since modular is becoming really complex, but it has still no out interface with the external midi devices

Not exactly what you're asking for, but have you checked this out ?

Maybe it could be adapted to suit ?

I'd like a CV-to-MIDI signal converter within Modular. If I set a random-signal LFO to output CC# 74, for example, I could use it to control Minimax. I don't know of anything that does that! It'd be like Reason.

the problem is the generation of the 'note' midi event. You can modify incoming notes, but not make them 'on the fly' - there's alot to be improved in this domain.

@Shayne
a display with assignable midi controller does what you want.
The best is the
free display module from Flexor, but even a meter on a mixer does the trick (if it accepts CC assignments - some do) or the VU of modular, though it makes not much sense to assign a CC to a virtual LED, but it does work :wink:

setup proc:
connect be the LFO output (or whatever calculates the function) to the input of the ValueDisplayPlus module. Then assign a CC# to the slider of the module.
Connect midi out of Modular to midi in of Minimax.
Assign the same CC# to the desired control

This is kind of a cludge and should be improved for shure...

cheers, Tom

Where have you guys been all the time? :grin:

Also, Michu gave me some great idea's on how to do freq2note. So we can use keyfollow on filters in modular without MVC, for example... Gonna try them out one of these, check the appropriate fora :smile:
