Latest Greatest

Post by dawman »

Smallest rig to date.
HX-3.5 Organ Module, and Maschine + only.

dNa Rack Effects-Pitch Shift
SpaceF AUX Delay
Soniccore 5.1 Room Reverb

STM2448X
Mau’s MIDI Router Filter
Speilraum’s SR-Pro

During Live performance Routing Window is replaced by whatever combination of VST’s the song calls for.
Thanks to Bidule Snapshots

Each SR Pro preset even shows the 12 channel mixer, plus my priority of choice in the Master Channel.
Life is good...

Yes.
Years ago using STM1632S and a 2 x 6 DAS and a Blue Sky Pro 5.1 Rental.
It did sound really good with no stage monitors too.
I just couldn’t get STM Surround under control but I’m much better 10 years After the fact.
Might try that with my automated HipHop/R & B group.

Thanks for the reminder.

Download this Guide ... ePUB, PDF or Mobi ...
https://gigperformer.com/how-to-optimiz ... ree-ebook/

I just read and IMO it´s the best Win10 optimization guide for audio/MIDI I´ve found.

I´ll possibly try the software on my Lenovo laptop.

Gigperformer crashed with Scope ASIO when I tried it last year. The old “treat Scope as a sound card” issue

Why fix something that works?
I’d just rather play and practice than looking for some new problems to fix.

I’ve got a friend with a K4 who asks for help and we keep finding out how GigPerformer is the problem, not the K4.
Told him try Bidule and like most of us wants to dig in and overcome the software hurdles.
My hurdles with Bidule lasted one day.

That’s the kind of software I like.
Plug this in here, then play....coolio...do it again. Awesomeness.
I’m a simpleton so there ya’ go...

The beauty of Bidule is simplicity.
I get Bidule to act like Scope too.
I send a Prgm Chng message to Scopes SR Pro/ PRJ Preset List, it then shows me the meters I need to view, the channel most important, and the same Prgm Chng message opens up whatever Instrument be it Kontakt, PianoTeq, Omni, MIDI Monitor, Keyscape, etc. in Bidule.
It even looks like Scope.

These 2 apps are the ultimate in live performance.
Both have the manufacturer/developers work on driver compatibility, then all modules/atoms can make anything you need by one of the many 3rd party developers.

Me,I’m just the guy who pays for the talent needed by guys who love solving problems and creating stuff.

The money spent keeps me playing, and I let the experts do their thang.

Been testing Gig Performer 4 on Scope 7 PCI Win 7 64. Seems to be working just fine.
Nice program with lots of customization features and not a lot of extra crap.
Ableton link (not sure if that was in the last version)

I know I reply on very old post,- but ...

in my post above I didn´t say I use Gigperformer on my Lenovo Thinkpad W540 (Intel i7 4th gen Haswell 4x 2.5GHz stock speed, 6MB L3 cache, 16gig RAM, 2 SSD).

It can run SCOPE/XITE v7 fine,- but it was all about the very detailed Gigperformer companie´s Guide to optimize Win10 for live performance/touring.

But because of chronic illness, live performance is history for me and I´m unable to come up w/ any experience report(s).

Is Omnisphere still a thang these days ? Would be great for a synthesist starting from scratch a new VSTI collection, but does it hold much value for us old GAS collectors (other than controller mapping) who already have dozens (or even 100) of virtual synths ?

Personally I've never owned any Spectrasonics but have way too many collections going back to my Akai sampler which is still working just fine.
There never seems to be a shortage of bargains for other products that fill the category of large collection of different sounds.
For example I just bought Pigments 3 for $49
Spectrasonics, Native Instruments, and others have really good products but I can't really justify the price difference and would rather spend my money on things that do make a difference in my overall sound.
I suppose your scenario of someone just starting out with nothing and this would be your one and only mega sound source it would be a good investment.
Same scenario except you don't own any hardware synths and you go buy a Moog One

I really like Eric Persing's demos, he has a style living the synthesist's dream since kicking off some of the D50's sonics, starting the whole 'combine samples with synthesis' thang culminating in Omni. I'd really like to have his OMG synth (circa NAMM 2011) - cuz no-one else can have it !

Plus I like the maple. Maybe not the Latest - but sure as hell one of the Greatest :o
