This is the one I have dreamed of.
They claim the downside is you are forced to use integrated graphics when all 3 Ultra M.2 PCI-e SSDs are used.....Yeah, so what, I have been doing that for years now. Last year the M.2 really gave me a boost but I knew we'd see more Ultra M.2 slots which are all PCI-e 4X not 2x.
Each M.2 directly connects to the CPU.
I'll post how well it works this summer as I guarantee I will have this and a new 1U short ATX Chassis to sit with the XITE-1 and TC Fireworx.
I've been spending money like a LIberal politician lately, difference is it's my money, not somebody elses.
But Omnisphere 2 is now used live, Zebra 2 HZ, BC Modular IVs all over the project window.
Life is Good...

Re: ASRock Z170
Looks sexy Jimmy. I know you're on xite but will this benefit 3 PCI Scope users?
Wouldn't mind an upgrade.

Re: ASRock Z170
it doesn't have PCI slots....
Re: ASRock Z170
From what I read it's an AMD board. I haven't seen a good AMD CPU for years...

Re: ASRock Z170
They have an AMD Board for gaming, this is the Intel Z97 replacement.
Nothing really new and fancy other than I can now have multiple M.2 PCI-e SSD devices at full 32GBps Bandwidth right on the mobo.
Before it was X99/Xeon only party and I can't see going to DDR4.
This one can hold 64GBs of DDR3 RAM, which I won't need but rather my 32GBs.
Instead of just one M.2 having all 3 will be a dream come true.
Less heat, less power draw and fast as Greased Lightning.

Ahh, you're all about the SSDs...
How do you fit that in a 1U rack?
