Electric Blasphemy

Post by dante »

Upon settling on 'Electric Blasphemy' as a good name for an upcoming album, and googling for suitable images I stumbled across this picture of this first upcoming All Electric Harley. The main debate around this being not about global warming, but about how we will miss the note of those magical 4 stroke pipes. So now Im wondering, before they all dry up - would it be possible to do a Harley Emulation in Modular ?

And could it have at least 150 CC's ?

Yes - I'm pretty sure that you could get close by analyzing how a Harley Engine works and what actually does produce the sound, and then emulate these elements and put them together. Exactly how you emulate a string sound or a brass sound. You just emulate a Harley 4 piston engine instead :)

Andy Farnell has written an interesting book on the subject: Designing Sound. He uses Pure Data, but the principles are the same.
