Insane warranty, bright red backlit keyboard, split touch screen, waterproof, fanless, 34 express slot, 2.9GHz i7 Haswell.
I waited for ADK to make a haswell w/ Express 34, but I like the rugged design for this.
They're meant for the battlefield, should be fine in the Vegas warzone.
My rig is so damn small, powerful and fast now. 8 years on the Z I went from 3 boards, and a 28U, then 2 x 88rs and a 16U, then Solaris an 88 and a 4U now a Getac Laptop case with a soft Gator 1U, 2 x QSC K12s, Solaris and the Casio PX-3S.
When I start needing a wlaker I will downsize again.

Thanks Jimmy, you may have just found the laptop I'm looking for. Was a bit worried about the US-centric documents, but a quick Google reveals a UK office so that makes me happy for returns/repairs etc. I was looking at a Lenovo W530, but I've been hanging on their forums for a bit and some issues seem to take forever to fix with no admission from Lenovo that there's any problem.
More research to do (plus pricing of course). I see they have many other models, what drew you to this one specifically?

Re: Found The Warriors Laptop 4 The XITE-1
I can get a better price on a group buy of 4 or more as I have contacted the manufacturers favored dealer.
I am getting one for sure but not until March 2014.
If anyone is serious, send me a pm with custom options you prefer and then I can see what the prices will be.
Chances are the discount will only be a few hundred bucks, but I think these are a few large anyways.
The 5 year warranty is worth 1000 USD alone...
wtf is night vision though...?
Scope Project Windows w/ EMP protection, waterproof, Radar jamming, and night vision.
I gotta get one of these, I even am sending an email to Holger.

Night vision might be a white>black and font>red or white.
The 13.3" screen and 1024x768 is a bit small, yeah?

There are other options but Q'4 of 2013 is when everyone refreshes their product lines.
Getac B300X and Panasonic Toughbooks are definately worth looking into.
The Panasonic also has Express Slots.
But I like the Getac Media Bay adapter for SSDs you already own to be used instead of a DVD Blu-Ray, or other gadgets.
ADK better get on the Express Slot Haswell laptop as I prefer using an audio developer, but jeez a 5 year warranty and test site videos of dropping the Getac and actually waterboarding it while still being used is a pretty compelling statement.
I am expecting to see a new Clevo style motherboard, faster CPU and 16/32GBs of RAM.
Maybe even the NGFF M.2 PCIe SSD connector we see in the new Supermicro 1150s for a fast boot drive too.
I am so into staying out of the consumer market of disposability when it comes to personal stage gear.

Will do.
Holger told me I was crazy, I replied it takes a crazy person to recognize another crazy person...
Check out the Panasonic toughbooks too.
Personally I like the Getac but the honest/decent distributor told me Q'4 2013 updates should show us the trend for 2014.
I waited and waiet for an Ivy Bridge with 2.8-3.0 w/ an Express34 and the RAM was never enough, then the Haswells came out w/ slow CPUs tiny RAM and no express, just never the right combo for me, but now everythings' falling into place.
Cheerz

it was bad enough getting a clevo "almost as heavy as a desktop desktop replacement" with SLI video cards, that thing is insane.
