I will give a try.
it's a long time I don't solder electronic things like this and maybe I have to get a smaller welder; I believe mine has a spike too big.
but it's worth the try before I throw it in the garbage.

should work, unless the chip has been overly heated before it broke.
The brown deposition or overheating effect at the first lip suggests someone already did a soldering job on that spot.
The broken lip could have been bend to much or to often.

take the right heat (iron), as 53E7 already said.

well, I don't know. I got it in a musical instruments store before the Pulsar2 even came out at a discount price compared to new: it was almost semi-new infact.
The soldering was already there, maybe done by Creamware itself?
