I don't think cities are quiet & peaceful regardless of police, but having officers that represent some sort of order does at least imprint that order on the local area to some degree. It also has a corollary effect too imo, by pushing behaviors into the realm of the verbotten you run the risk of sweetening the taste and increasing the profits. That and large gatherings of people certainly do provide targets for those who want to exploit them, on both sides of that coin.

I'm still waiting to see what happens to Syria, in regards to Iran at least. The situation with Gaza at present is...it seems more like a 'testing' of resolve on both sides of that imaginary line right now, hopefully it won't escalate.

Judging for what is going on in terms of preparation in Iran, Israel, Syria and so forth, I would say that an escalation to the general conflict is inevitable now, it's too late to stop it, the war has started and it will not stop now. What we can expect is for it not to escalate too much, or for it to escalate slowly at best, but sadly I don’t think it will stop anymore... Let see what Russia has to say about all this as they will be a “key factor” to determine the direction of the forces joining each other, if Russia stays back in this conflict it could help a lot to keep it from spreading too much, if they join, all other big nations will also join immediately defining positions, like the all powerfull and extremely scary "China". Then we have to see what the US is going to do, if it is joining Israel or states behind this conflict. If the US joins Israel, this would mean that the hard development side of the war would be upon us in no time, unfortunately.

So now, it is no longer a matter of thinking if the war is going to start because it is here already, what we can wonder about is at what speed is going to spread through the other countries around and how long it will take untill they use their most destructive weapons, this is what I think.

Hamas needs some represtation of some sort.
All I am hearing is Israeli outrage which is expected and justified, but we should have a guy with a black hood, or a Bag over his head like the Unblown Comic talking about the Great Satan, etc. Surely their leaders want to say something as they always want to use the press to their advantage. Israel started the war, backed up by US.

One of the mayor sources of income of the US, for decades, have been and still is WAR. If they don’t have an enemy they need to create one to stay in business. Iran is the new “devil” needed now to run yet another instance of this business. Through this evil sustained in every TV set for 24 hours a day, they scare their own people to hell, to the point that they surrender and accept things like the TSA and many others abuses to their privacy, dignity and liberty, for the sake of security. So, with every new war they create, also the domination of the “individual” advance a step farther. You bet this is exactly what is going to happen again through this war, which is going to be very, very long: Agenda 21 is in its way!

The news we are getting internationally are a bunch of shameful lies right now: you will see Netanyahu or Obama framed in the news all the time or their subordinated agents making false statements about what is happening over there, inserting hate into people’s hearts about the Gaza Strip and Arab people in general, as if they were terribly bad people when in fact a very reach country (Israel), is bombarding a very poor (Palestinian people) location of Third World people! And all this for the sake of power and money, control and the development of their well constructed agenda in development.

If you want to hear at least some of the other side news, go to Aljazeera channel online, as they allow them to speak now and then. Anyway, if you want some truth I will tell you a big one: The leaders who started this war are wolfs thirsty for human blood and in their own veins don’t hold a drop of it, in state they have cold ice going through… Even been aware of what is going on and what it follows now it is very hard be distant to this tragedy happening in your face!

Through the war of Iraq, it happened the same that is happening now, they used even 3D animations to convince people of what was going on, but they did some important mistakes and let a few birds from a footage background in their montage that were not from the area and that will never be there naturally, giving so testimony of their own lies, the same with other takes and even with the infamously famous Bin Laden.

The most relevant about Hamas is what Israel and US are using this organization for in their strategy. Hamas is closely attached to Iran and Egypt. Having killed Hamas’ leader it is a way to instigate the anger in Egypt and Iran. The final destination war is Iran!

If Egypt reacts, Iran will sooner or later react too, and this is what they want. It's like looking for a fight hitting the face of the best friend of the person you really want to destroy, with whom you cannot fight directly because the director of the school is watching what you’re doing. If they would have started this war directly with Iran, the international eye would have discovered the plot and it was too risky to do so, so they have proffered to start a war in a place of some of their best friends, and then escalate it until arriving to Iran, the goal of this teasing attitude.

It is amazing that they don't care about the death of either side civilians, even small children are dying. Israeli and Palestinian are people like you and me, innocent people used for their sinister purposes, THIS IS SO DISGUSTING!!!

Except the US the only countries in Europe having patriots (air defense) are Holland and Germany.
Both countries agreed last week already to send them to Turkey if asked for.

Tomorrow Turkey will ask the Nato to help to defense the Turkish border, so most probably 'we' will send them.

The position of Iran's leader Ahmadinejad is weakend by the economic blockade (109 million dollar damage a day) and internal unrest, so if Israel would turn the agression away from Hamas to Iran's nuclear underground installations that would be fine.

I think it is probable that in the following 72 hours there is finally a cease-fire. If this happens, we should not be tricked by it believing that their aim, which is Iran, will not be targeted in a given moment. This is a well studied process, the war is already on and it will keep being on for years to come.

Our hope lies in having as much time as possible, that this craziness develops as slowly as possible.

However, the worst scenario is that Iran will manage nuclear potency.
If that might happen your fears will be served much more than by a few bombs on Gaza.
What happens now in Gaza is nothing but the same as happens since decades in the region.
I have multi more trust in self-control on nuclear action by Israel than by Iran for that matter. Don't you?
