How about a Convolution Unit, not to reproduce a reverb of a closet or Epic hall only.
More with the main focus on non linear IRs to shape and color sounds, great wired spaces, strange delays etc.
And while this is a wish topic, please with a live side chain input to use this signal for convolution. And of course wav import and tweaks to transpose and EQ the IRs. Thanks.

Re: S|C Convolution Unit
i'm not being Negative Nelly, but this kind of operation might be best handled natively...
Re: S|C Convolution Unit
Cubase Reverance aint bad. I've used it a couple of times, you can get a quick result without being a convolution expert.
Re: S|C Convolution Unit
looking forward to that one

Re: S|C Convolution Unit
Well, they are fast
Re: S|C Convolution Unit
its not what you requested its an EQ using fast convolution (schnelle faltung);
but has all technix in to realize the requested and more_
------
the sidechain input that makes no sense for me
what would be the signal you want to put in such an input??
?? vibes

Re: S|C Convolution Unit
Yes I understand and know what it do but as you said .. the door is open.
For a current (spacey-outbound-CyberSpace ) track I use several IRs to color some instruments and to put voices in a strange enviroment.
After the first hours of recording and programming I had this topic in mind.
It would be very nice to have a live input (side chain, was bad chosen) for a convolution unit, as far as it is technical realizable. Would be a hard nut I guess.
2 IRs - 2.4mb
Here are two IRs (well not really IRs) I use in my current project, you can load them in the Kontakt convolution for example. Try the Mars Wind wav on a Duduk or similar flute to get an impression.
The other CurvedDimension wav is used to blend parts of the track (stems) , while the listener jumps from one Cyber Space world to an other.
You can listen to the IRs with your media player to answer your question, what kind of signals I would like to feed in live.
It would be nice to blend between the live input and original signal via dry/wet. Some kind of morphing?
Constructive vibes back...

Re: S|C Convolution Unit
for a 8sec ir you would need 8sec to wait till it be applied first;
you can convolve 2 audiostreams of course but it sounds different than you expect;

Kontakts' Zero Latency Convolution Inserts are very
efficient and can be great for ER's for depth.
CW just wants to enhance the Engine in Kontakt
using Scope.
I am always having trouble with trying to get my
midfield stage cabinets to sound like the nearfields
I create my projects at home on.
The FIR Crossover would be a great tool and using
that with ConEQ maybe I can alter the mixes I make
at home and have presets for various rooms/stages
I work on.
I usually have to make a mix for each room from
scratch and that is becoming a major PITA.
I tried the IRs and they are very spacey indeed.
I even tried it on the Combo Organ CW made for
Kontakt that has the best authenticity out of all organs
I currently tried.
Glad to see DASGOST working on new concepts.......

I like the idea of using the one surface for both analysis and control.tgstgs wrote:well the door is already open_
