Yes, Mark Wherry. He also supposedly held onto the Power Pulsar that he had for a couple of months to review, simply because he loved it & Scope so much.

So Gordon probably had to deal with Frank Hund in it's retrieval, which has led us to the semi Biased attitude.......

Or he used the software during the 1.x days and decided to write it off for life (try to judge Cubase 5 from its Nuendo 1.3 heritage...)? I don't recall when Elektra was a current product unfort.

The real tell will be reading the rest of the article, something I'm curious to do now. That's notoriety for ya...

Brotha' Man Capacitor,..........
Laptop dancers..

Here's a guaranteed positive review technique.
Have a laptop dancer show up at SOS, Keyboard, EQ and Mix magazine w/ the XITE-1.

I was collecting their singles B-sides too :-)
It has been re-released on the cd "Rare" (#1) which has most B-Sides of the early days, almost like another album.

Back on topic for a minute, I've said it before, but I do think that when Sonic-Core send the review models out to any of the magazines, they need to arrange with our beloved 3rd party developers to have them shipped with the following:
Solaris 5.0
Flexor 3.0
SpaceF BlackBox
Insert your favourite other 3rd party devices here.

I mean I don't think that Gordon Reid could fail to be impressed with a full M3/Flexor3 installation. He's one of the most knowledgeable synth heads there is and I think he'd be blown away by it, as he would with Solaris 5.0.

It may not be possible to include a full review of the other devices in the main article, but they should at least get a mention. Do non-scope users even know about the amazing 3rd party products available. They are one of the platforms main selling points, and S-C should make sure that they advertise these as well as their own products.

Perhaps it's time for Mr. Reid to do that Xite Review :)

Hello!

I've offered to review it in SOS myself (though I can't speak for the guy that's in charge of interface reviews, so I can't promise anything). What I will say though, is this:

http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/jul03/a ... renoah.asp
http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/Jun03/a ... escope.asp
http://www.soundonsound.com/sos/mar99/a ... amwave.htm

There's a common complaint raised in all three of the above reviews - Mac (and/or OS X) support. If that wasn't promised for the Xite-1, then I'd say it was a more-or-less finished product (barring the odd bug fix etc), and ready for review, but I really don't think it'd be fair to review it yet in light of the links above - not fair on potential Xite customers who use Macs, because the review would have no real relevance to them, and not fair on Sonic Core, because the product isn't, strictly speaking, finished!

(I suppose you could argue that the products I linked to shouldn't have been reviewed either, for the same reasons, but then we'd never have reviewed them at all, would we!)

Hope that all makes sense, and remember, I can't promise any kind of review at all - I'm off duty and not speaking for SOS, just chucking my 2p in.

Cheers!

Sound pretty sensible Chris, although Sonic Core have said they are working on OSX support & given their recent form, I think it would be fair to assume that they'll deliver on that... Nonetheless, I'm sure you have our best interests at heart being a scoper yourself.. :D

Cheers!
