I have a huge problem. My Kurzweil *must* be master and I have it working fine when the Pulsar is set to slave. I've added another 8 channel converter and attached it to the Pulsar but it is not syncing.
The Kurzweil is set to master, Pulsar is set to slave, and the converter box is set to slave. Does the master have to be connected directly to both slaves? It would be disappointing if this was the case. I'm frustrated at this point.
you have in and out connected on the new converter? if so, wordclock may be the only solution. if that's not possible, why not just record the analog out of the Kurzweil? the loss would be minimal, if at all.

Thanks for the response. Ah.. that's disappointing. I use the Kurzweil's effects as a four bus effects engine. The reverbs are really good (same as Kurzweil Rumour.) The synth doesn't have the sample option so the only way to use it in this manner is through adat. So it sounds like the master has to be connected directly to the slaves.
Does the wordclock also have to come off the master or can the Pulsar sync to another master but still use wordclock to another slave?
it should forward clock in either case.
actually, afaik, it should forward clock via the card's adat outputs, too. that's why i wondered if you had both adat ins and outs connected to the ad/da.

is the kurzweil 8 channel optical or two?
The Kurzweil only has 8 in/8 out ADAT ports (1 of each.) I expected the Pulsar to forward ADAT clock to all connected slaves when ADAT sync'd to the Kurzweil as slave.
If forwarding of clock is possible, maybe I have a bad Toslink cable? I will check. In Scope software I have ADAT A selected (the one going to Kurzweil) and slave selected under settings. 2 toslink cables are connected to each ADAT device and go into the Pulsar.

That is how I currently have it set up. There are two toslink cables for each device. So Pulsar has four cables connected. The Pulsar doesn't seem to be forwarding the clock from device1 to device2, when device1 is master, Pulsar is slave, and device2 is slave.
