This is really weird.

I have two Pulsar I cards but MIDI traffic seems to be coming from the first MIDI IN port regardless of which MIDI IN port I connect my MIDI keyboard to.

Has anybody experienced this before?
Can someone explain to me how to change that?

Is it some installation/configuration error that I need to go to CSET.INI to resolve?

The last time I also had similar problem in which the MIDI ports was swopped - 1st MIDI port became 2nd and vice versa.

well, first of all it's supposed to react exactly like you describe it, as from your last sentence I guess you switched boards in cset.ini

You have to add the 'module' for the 2nd card's physical midi port from the HardwareIO menu to the routing window.
The default projects usually have only the physical devices from the first card included.

cheers, Tom

Well could you show me what's the command syntax to put in the module under cset.ini?

As 'module' Astroman meant a module in Scope software, in your active project, not in cset.ini. There should be 2 'scope midi in' (or similar) found, indeed, in the menu called 'hardware I/O' in the routing window of your active project. to be able to use both midi ins in your sequencer.

Now I'm not at my DAW so my suggestions are not complete: as for swapping the boards in CSET.INI: there should be something like

Code: Select all

boardid=
- it should be findable in the manual (but I'm not sure). With this element you can logicaly swap the sequence of the boards.

The modules are in my routing window already. But I don't detect any MIDI data when I connect it to the MIDI Monitor.

I'll try the cset.ini commands anyway.

check for continuity on the cable whip first, assuming that you have ruled out the cable.

It's OK now. I uninstalled SCOPE and reinstall it.

I think could be due to improper installation. I installed SCOPE the last time with only one Pulsar 1 card and added another card much later.
