and is this because programmers cant think straight in real life situations, or is it intentional?

you work with v7?
ok, then install driver v5. and install scope v5. now you can switch between the drivers plus restart the system.

but be careful! regedit seems to orientate the keys/dsp infos to the last installation. this can cause dsp error messages when you switch back to v7. it is best to rename the folder of the penultimate installation beforehand in order to hide the path. here it works.

make a checklist of the workflow, then you will remember the right steps later. in an emergency reinstall your primary version.

DSP-Indicator-TIP: after changing the version, load the STSx000 or M3, there is no error message?, then the system entries are not destroyed...
you should be the first to check this again after every version change!

I did the same as spielraum. Just install both in parallel.
You have to change the driver ( forcing the right version, not letting windows decide) in devicemanager, then reboot.

In general it's a good idea to backup your system regulary, especialle before doing experiments.

If you look at "Gerätemanager->audio,video..." you should see the cards without any "!" oder "?".
This should be independent of running any scope app.
At this level you either have scope5.1 drivers or scope7 drivers. But you never should have "no driver".
The driver has to be selected by "forcing" it. Don't let windows autosearch.
