Re: Scope 7

Reaktor chews up the chinczy CPU, and Faxi actually figured out a way to use Kontakt samples, but not full blown instruments. I bailed on the Maschine+ as there was no external MIDI control, after a forum “expert” claimed so and it frustrated me like a Luna Card trying to run a big poly synth and ST...

Re: Scope 7

Actually looks pretty cool. MIDI CC Control, good DSP synths. Surprised I haven’t heard more about this. If only there was a hardware sampler w/ keyswitched horn sections, pianos, etc. Hell I’ve got the Hammond module. With a DinoPark and actual competent sample playback I could save a lot of luggin...

Re: Scope 7

Well, in a way Braincell was proven correct about native overtaking Scope. It only took 20 years  Not from my perspective. There is NO automated VST mixer, plenty of mixers, which can be automated I suppose by endless automation lanes in a DAW. But I’m talking real time, immediate and precise ...

Re: Scope 7

I’ve been patient as I wait for Zebra 3. It’s been 13 years to fix bugs so using Zebra 2 will have to do. I just work around the inconveniences. I still don’t know what’s wrong w/ Scope. I record, automate FX and mixing, actually recall every aspect and detail I need with screensets. I don’t why peo...

Re: VST pops and clicks

It’s in PTeq YaYa J. You give it a high polyphony setting and disable MultiCore. Try to have no other VSTi’s loaded so you can determine which core it’s on. Easier to monitor the spikes in Windows Task Manager that way. I would also disable Hyper threading in the Windows BIOS first. Sometimes hypert...

Re: VST pops and clicks

I had that before when I used a GFX card. Ever since I went with CPUs using non gaming quality Graphics on die it became a CPU and multi core assignment issue. Glad you fixed it. I upgraded Omnisphere and started using Keyscape layered w/ PTeq for really full sounding instruments. Was getting slight...

Re: My completed Oberheim SEM project

A 4 voice set up with a 1-3 (1 mono/3 poly) configuration would be life altering. I remember 15 years ago when I first joined the Z I was desperate for the OBX and SEM sounds. While getting close in modular for a few bread and butter sounds, it could never get that true discrete audio quality of the...

Re: Best mobo and cpu combo

After two poor choices of 6 core and 8 core CPUs (wanted a fast quad) it seems the AMD 5600G has won the day. Don’t like latency from high core counts, but AMD redesigned their cache and have disabled 2 cores of an 8 core APU/CPU, while keeping the cache size of the 8 core. My i7 4790Ks (2) have bee...

Re: Do I really need a new mixer?

Can you show a diagram of your current signal flow/set up?

I haven’t used a mixer ever since the XITE-1 was released. Z-Link/A16 w/ADAT really made life easy for me.

I can use a combination of mixers in the project window to achieve most Bussing/AUX needs.

This is why I like my noisy ass Supermicro rack fans.
They’re very loud, so when it gets quiet I know I need a new replacement fan….

M$oft claims Intel’s Alder Lake will get a 7% boost in performance from Window$ 11.

This means AMD will get 15%… :D

Can’t wait to see AMD release some WOKE advertisements so M$oft will “share” even more secrets.

Free upgrade.

This tells you all you need to know.

People like free stuff. M$oft knows this.
10 was free, it was suppose to be the last Windows needed.

We have no choice as we relinquish our privacy for convenience.

7/11 stores rake in big bucks as they too are convenient…

Re: I just recovered 60 GB on my C/ disk (win 7 - deleting media player dB)

Excellent discovery. I have always used DESKTOP to unzip and place new samples. As the instruments/samples increased in size, the more trouble I had on my 256GB SSD. I went in the Tree Folder and always found giant/unnecessary Windows folders. Now I use 1TB SSD’s but still like a large overhead, so ...
