there's quite a difference with developement kits for VST (or Photoshop or whatever) and the Scope system. The first one is basically just an interface description for data structures of an application, so this of course can be distributed free of charge. It doesn't contain any special knowledge. Th...

imho the problem results from integration of ES1 inside Logic, which means he wants the SBLive computer's Logic acoustic output routed into the recording computer with another Logic running on Luna as sequencer/recorder. The midi notes come from the Luna computer. So the setup might be: Luna midi ou...

I don't think you can mix anything 'soundtrack-like' without a sub. It's such different receiption of the sound. I always wonder how people can stand this strange kind of noise but most seem to like it...

as you may have seen in the cross refed thread above it's not that important how good a monitor sounds. It has to sound 'reliable' so that you can imagine your music on an estimated destination system, like club speakers, car radio or whatever. On your further check outs try to take some really bad ...

if you're going to take piano lessons hammer action of the keys is absolutely essential. A master keyboard with only weighted keys is completely useless. The SL880 is one of the cheapest offering this feature afaik. If the piano part is really important for you a used Kawai MP9000 might appeal. Thou...

hi ernest,

afaik what you're trying to do is impossible without a common master clock (3 devices talking in various directions), so the PC interfaces have to be appropriate and (possibly) a Pulsar sync plate is needed (?).

hi, imho this question is general enough to qualify for this list - for the real developers it's possibly too general  The SHARCS are said to be well suited for audio applications, so there might even come someone with a solution superceding TC's devices. But, and that's the problem: HOW ? :ee...

I must admit, it took some time for me to find the hidden behind the obvious, but now I'm happy, too  Recently listened to several records and thought '...well, nice synth line' - guess what it was - a Minimoog  No, it wasn't that fat, not that hammer, it was just musical, sounded great...

hi Immanuel, you don't struggle with everything from CW, just with the protection of the software - that's always cumbersome in one or the other way, but it could be even worse... my 2 cents go for some physical modelling 'oscillator' and an improvement of the midi stuff - but of course pure speculation. And thinking about the original intention of this thread: the reaction of John is very cool which also applies to his freebies. So I wouldn't bother about the 30 buck...

one of the great features of modular synthesis is that you can come up with an own design, based on your own experiences with the system. Imho some 'courseware' like that is mostly counterproductive in that sense - and intros to the theme are more than enough on the net. Not to offend you, but don't...

this might be useful for those who need a preamp/monitor for Pulsar but unfortunately can't afford one of the Creamware units or Joemeek channels at the moment. A 2nd hand Philips DCC recorder for about 50 to 80 euro might be a solution. It's a 19" 2 HE device with 18 bit converters, a decent p...

Nice it's working now, but could anyone with a deeper knowledge explain why an inactive CDRom as slave on channel 1 can have this influence ? His CRD-8521B as a 52x unit isn't such old fashioned. I'd expect HD drives on different channels work better, as copy is much faster. There's always som...
