If there's this much talk when XITE hasn't been released yet, think of the frenzy there'll be when it IS released. I guess that's why SC called it XITE...they knew about us Scopeians here on PZ....
There's kind of no point in buying any of the old cards. They won't work in modern systems and the DSPs are slow. Polyphony aside, there's often DSP management issues because bigger, better synths and effects have a hard time fitting on the slow DSPs without phasing/placement issues -- and it's even...
I'll probably be getting an Xite in June, although we also have to buy a Mac Pro with PCI-E to go along with it. :D We'll be using it for synths mainly and live mixing. I want to run 50 instances of MiniMax, Pro-12, Solaris, etc. all simultaneously. ;) I hope the OS X port works well. :o Shayne

I second that. In my studio we'll be mainly using Xite with a Mac Pro, but at some point we'll want to take it on the road and use it with a laptop. We're gonna need the ExpressCard interface at some point....
i think you are right! this is imo the last chance for soniccore/creamware to do it the right way. I really hope they work smart and stick to a few products and make them good. It just gives me chills(the bad kind) to know that they announced "soon" as in 6 months, and now may is not the ...
What!? I thought you would be able to plug Xite into either a PCI-E card or a laptop via ExpressCard. What do you mean, I would have to buy two different units of Xite??
I've had this happen occasionally too. Have you tried clicking away from the menu and trying it again? BTW, you don't need to reboot when Scope crashes. Just run the program again, and everything will be fine. (That's assuming you haven't yet loaded your DAW software, in which case you will have to ...
Well, there's an old paradigm that never fails: no matter how much hard disk space or memory you have, you always quickly fill it up. Therefore, I would move that no matter how much DSP power we have, we will fill it all up at once.
I never thought XTC was useful. It introduces latency, and since I do almost all my work with realtime synths, I would always stick to standard Scope mode anyway.
...And I never saw the point of PowerCore or UAD-1 either!!
will there be a standalone mode? Just connect a Midi-Keyboard and play some synths - for live performance!!! Without a host computer?? THANKS Harry We've already been all through that. All the devices for Scope have some Async modules that run on the host CPU, as well as other scripts. Noah, as you...
Thanks so much, Ralf! Having Z-Link is going to be awesome because I really didn't know how Xite would fit into my current setup before. The I/O breakout is a great idea, too...that'll be good for a lot of people. The feature list of Xite seems like it's now ready for prime time...I can't wait until...
I don't see the point of the A16 XLR in the first place. If it doesn't have mic preamps, what good is it? What studio equipment uses XLR as its I/O connection? I thought most stuff uses TS/TRS.
I've changed I/O plates a few times, and I haven't had to reinstall anything. All you have to do is replace the hardware I/O modules in your projects (they're tied to specific hardware) and "cable" connections. Not too difficult. You are going to get error messages until you replace the mo...
You mean 40 days left. SC has until 11:59pm on May 31st before they miss their deadline. I sure hope it IS beginning of May rather than late May. On the other hand, we want them to work out all the bugs before release.
