I was hoping to control SoundDiver with the knobs from another unit. I just hate using the mouse as a control unit... My friend said I could borrow is MW I sometime so I'll give that a shot before I buy anything. Thanks!

Based on my last reply, I have the following questions about your earlier responses...

Sinix, if I went with the MW I, wouldn't I be able to program it using the knobs on the Virus or Q? If I could, then I wouldn't be too worried about the interface of the MW I. If not, I'd stick with the XT since ...

I really appreciate all the great advice you guys are giving me. I'm definitely looking to expand my sound palette since I've got all the bread and butter sounds covered and then some. I'm selling off a bunch of my synth gear to consolidate my setup but here's what I plan on keeping:

Yamaha Motif8 ...

I good friend of mine suggested that I go with the original microwave (if I can find one) over the XT since it has real analog filters and sounds much better in his opinion. Time to start watching ebay...

Massus,

I've got my eye on a Nord Modular on auction right now since it would be nice to have the physical knobs for tweaking. However, I plan on holding out for a Pulsar system if I don't win the auction.

Thanks,
Peter

I'm just getting back into digital audio and MOTU says I may have timing issues by having multiple audio cards in my system. I already have a Korg OASYS PCI card so I may have to go with the Nord Modular for that reason alone. Man, I wish all this stuff played well together...

I just listened to the SynC Modular demo and it does sound pretty similar to the nord modular. I just read the blurb on their website about the designer collaborating with NI so I'm assuming Reaktor 3.0 sounds even better.

I have no idea how powerful the Pulsar's SHARC DSPs are but I'm planning on ...

I was planning on getting a Nord Modular and a Waldorf Microwave XT before I heard about Pulsar but I don't know anyone who actually owns a Pulsar system who can confirm whether or not it's as good as it sounds.

I know this is like comparing apples and oranges so I'd like to limit the comparison to ...

I'm fairly new to the world of modular synths and have grown to love the concept of modular synthesis as well as the sound of the nord modular and nord lead 3(which can be approximated on the nord modular).

Knowing next to nothing about Creamware Pulsar (other than what can be gleamed from their ...
