Re: Neglected MIDI messages
That particular well was poisoned by manufacturers using the 0 velocity for note-off. If some do and some don't, it doesn't make a lot of sense to support it. The main reason for using velocity 0 was that, in the early days of MIDI when MIDI stream processors were far slower than today, the roughly ...

Re: Is a system like Kyma possible in Scope?
Just a couple factual updates. I have used Kyma for about 10 years, Scope (starting with a Pulsar card) for about 8 years, and I have written extensive MIDI control modules for both, to link to my software. So I'm pretty familiar with both the differences and similarities. The Kyma team is a twofer:...

Re: Is a system like Kyma possible in Scope?
If you are only looking to morph sounds, yes that could be done by Scope. In fact I would guess (but admittedly haven't tried it) you could get decent morphing-like effects with the Mod3 Vocoder Analysis & Synthesis modules, or the Orbitone Vorb. But if you are looking to have a Kyma-in-a-Scope,...

Thanks for your reply. I've answered by PM.
I hope SC changes their non commercialization policy for SDK4 developers too. It seems everyone would benefit if devices were at least allowed to be released as shareware.

Works great, both Patch change and Bank change. Thanks! Now perhaps if you can find time you might take on the other questions I had asked when you released it a couple weeks ago? Perhaps in the original thread....

Re: Problem w Prog Change on 3rd pty synths
Well 3 out of 4 is pretty good if it happens. Especially those three. Each one is a terrific synth, that goes well beyond something you could cobble up as a Modular patch. I look forward to being able to use them. Thanks for your traction on this.

Re: Problem w Prog Change on 3rd pty synths
Hi John, I just checked & you're correct about Paradox. I sent Neutron a message to let him know about this in case nobody had already told him. ~Mark Thanks. I usually try to notify the synth developers directly, and in the case of the Paradox I wrote a note last week in the synth's intro thre...

Re: Problem w Prog Change on 3rd pty synths
Thanks for explaining this...I wasn't sure if there was some magic trick I didn't know about that would make them work. Now I know there isn't and if MIDI Program change is required (as I do because I control everything algorithmically), the synths with this issue simply will not work for me. Of the...

Problem w Prog Change on 3rd pty synths
There seems to be a problem with most 3rd party synths responding to MIDI Prog and Bank change. I know to number both the Program list and the Banks, and I have no trouble with this on the standard Scope synths or on the Modular synths. But most 3rd party synths simply don't respond to the MIDI chan...

Use deoxit gold, stabilant 22, 99% isoprobyl alchohol or etc to clean the contacts (NOT tuner cleaner or 70% alchohol). Just curious, why do you warn against 70% alcohol? Same bitter taste additives as 99%, which as far as I know do not leave a residue; and the other 29% is just distilled water, ri...

... also, the name of the game is the "recording business", so massive instances are not as important as FAT, quality sounds. one doesn't need to layer as heavily when the sounds stand on their own. This is true probably 90% of the time, but there is another persuasion, of people wh...

Nice sounds from this synth. But I have one problem I can't figure out...it doesn't seem to respond to MIDI Program Change or Bank Change messages. I know to number both the Program list and the Banks, and I have no trouble with this on the standard Scope synths, although I have seen it on some 3rd ...

Scope is such inspired engineering, both hardware and software, it is the Stradivarius of computer music systems. I'm not optimistic about the longevity of SonicCore, given the way they treat developers, but even if they goes under, there will be people who will continue to develop for Scope - perha...

I like the clean look. Don't really care if it goes back to the old look, or something different. It's not the look but the content that counts. But the look is fine by me.

These tests usually tell nothing about real performance and stability in DAWs. This is an OC and gear freak type of test. altius citius fortius I disagree. Given a few assumptions, this looks like a very good DAW platform. The assumptions are: 1. Prime95 can run overnight without errors and without...
