Re: big problem with new mobo

I've disabled all mentioned protocols and processes. And even chose a non aero theme, but it doesn't seem to be working. And now even cubase is acting worse than before.
I'm really at the end of my Pulsar-patience. Even though I just spent more than € 200,- on the new drivers.
Anyone left with the ...

Re: big problem with new mobo

Hi everyone, I'm back again. With still the problem of stuttering audio. But I've discovered that it's also stuttering with simple mp3's playing through windows media player. It doesn't seem to matter if it streams from a usb thumb drive or the internal ssd (C:).
I'm really at a loss and am almost ...

Re: big problem with new mobo

disabled multicore, no difference (actually seems to get worse). now, I've enabled smart again (some kind of hdd monitoring?) in the bios.
I'm not sure if it's connected, but the audio seems to stutter a bit less, but it's still not resolved. Also, the disk meter still peaks in the red when i move ...

Re: big problem with new mobo

hi Gary,
thanks for the quick reply.
I saw that list with the new scope version but i can't find most of these functions in the bios. But I'm sure most of them are present since this is a fairly new Intel board.
And I've already switched off the hd-audio controller in the bios.
Furthermore, the asio ...

Re: big problem with new mobo

hi everyone,
so thanks for all the replies. I finally went with the intel DH55HC mobo.
And indeed thanks for the tip about the midex drivers. I've now installed Windows 7, bought the new 5.1 drivers from Sonic Core and got everything working again.
........
except for the fact that now audio tends ...

Re: big problem with new mobo

thanks guys.
Asrock is sending my request to Taiwan to see if anything is possible with a bios update or some custom workaround.
But I'll probably swap the whole thing for an 1156 based board and cpu.

btw, running XP on these newer boards is perfectly possible. All the necessary drivers are ...

Re: big problem with new mobo

thanx for the quick responses! it's really helping me :)
I'm installing windows 7 now but I do need good performances from my trusted Pulsar. And by that I mean the lowest latency possible and every i/o (except midi) working at full speed.
So if you're already expecting me to make compromises ...

Re: big problem with new mobo

Dante, that's great! I didn't know they released drivers for Windows 7, but indeed, that changes my OS instantly. But it still leaves me with the IRQ problems.
So Garyb, if I understand correctly, the best way to pursuit would be:

- swap mobo and cpu for 1156 ones
- disable some of the settings you ...

big problem with new mobo

hi folks,
It's been a long while since i've visited this forum.
My setup was working great with a dual core pentium. But now I've upgraded to an Intel Core I5 on an 1155 socket mobo.
The stupid thing won't work. Either it's pci overflow errors or the whole thing just freezes after a minute or 3 ...
