yeah, it's a little confusing, but what those dates say is that if you bought v4.5 from Creamware(before dec 2007) or Sonic/Core(after jan 2008) then you get the upgrade free. in other words, if you have v4.5 v5 is free, period. very kind of them, no?
one way to tell if the keyfile is a 4.5 ...

Re: Old PulsarII in fairlight system
Actually another poster here was talking about so-called "micro" code or assembly, saying that UA (Uaudio) chips use the same basic code structures and that above that it's more open, my suspicion is of course the VST SDK is used for scope since I know with native, all stuff like RTAS, AU and Dxi ...

Therefore the precise hint. It's not their responsibility to care for 2nd hand market, tho ;)

Re: Old PulsarII in fairlight system
Hi Fluxpod
The I/O that was attached was proprietary Fairlight, which would have used the same physical interfacing as Soniccore i/o boards but that is all I know, so now it's just a PulsarII XTC card or equivalent.
The strange thing is, there are disks for Scope 4.5 when AFAIK all if not most ...

Re: Old PulsarII in fairlight system
I'm not after a Lexicon reverb, I'm after Creamware DSP with up-to-date SonicCore software and I want to know if my card will run it "out of the box".
It doesn't matter the history of what system it was in it only matters that SC aren't answering the question, ie serial number.

Re: Old PulsarII in fairlight system
no, old Creamware cards ran up to v4.5. v5 is free if you have v4.5 keys. do you have a full set of keys? why haven't you communicated with S/C yet? it doesn't matter what we think.
where's the rest of the console?

Re: Old PulsarII in fairlight system
yes. it still has a multipin for an i/o card right? it won't be nearly as much fun without it.
I think it has a fairlight i/o attached to it AFAIK.

Re: Old PulsarII in fairlight system
yeah, i think astro's right. the card is the same, but you'll need to contact S/C and you should probably get the upgrade. it's worth it. i don't know that the Fairlight ran the Scope platform, although it did use the same, or similar plugins.
This is right but can it run scope platform?

Re: Old PulsarII in fairlight system
Thanks guys.
On the website I thought I saw something to the effect of having bought it before a certain date and not from a partner etc
I think it will run 4.5, but not anything newer, at least for free.
Maybe someone has a bit more info would be appreciated.
My regards to the forum

Hi,
Would anyone here know what plugins (or platform) might be authorized to run on an old fairlight card.
TIA
