Re: Really returning home

Thanks for the ideas. When updating to win 7 and then 10, the system seemed a little less stable as I remembered it to be? The PC is old, so as I still have all of the previous versions of scope, I thought I would I go back to an earlier build and see what happens. I remember being hardcore about ...

Really returning home

After a super long time of not being involved in anything scope and selling up the business and equipment including a lot of vintage valve mics, preamps and compressors etc (but I kept the amp, near field monitors and scope cards), I have decided to rebuild the DAW. And I mean going back to winxp ...

PMC TB2's for sale

Anyone near Sydney Australia may be interested in a superb set of studio monitors for very cheap. https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/224326654025
They are TB2SA's (https://www.audiotechnology.com/PDF/REVIEWS/AT39_PMC_TB2S-A.pdf) and sound like they have scratchy pots/loose connections. You could pop the ...

Is there a better board than the one I currently have (Intel DH55HC, BIOS TCIBX10H.86A.0037.2010.0614.1712 06/14/2010)? WinXP 32bit dedicated non internet connected system with most non-necessary services disabled. Its an old 1156 board, but I am getting PCI limit reached errors with only half of 21 ...

Re: Scope 7

Upgraded from Scope 4.5 to 7 here on a stand alone WinXP 32bit machine here and all is working well. If anyone else is upgrading from v4, make sure you hit the "Paste From Clipboard" for the new V7 Key. That caught me out. Used to be a whizz at scope but haven't used it for years and forgotten ...

Props to the Mesa 1516B cab. Used to own one of those. Great sounding cab. Wished I'd never sold it.

Re: Fast Cars

Yep, drove all the way there and back with my wife and kid. But I took us off the main roads where ever I could and went cross country so we were on our own for most of the trip on dirt roads/tracks. In three weeks we drove over 9000K's and bush camped wherever possible. Uluru was great but Lake ...

I was referring to the signal quality of ADAT I/Os through my rig (WRDA-7 -> Pulsar I 4dsp).
Could just be the cabling as I borrowed an ADATxt and had the same results (used 48 & 44.1 and no real difference in audio quality).
.....

There must be another problem then. I used to use a DA7 ...

Mixed in scope using Timeworks EZ-Verb, Timeworks Vintage EQ, Vinco, STM 4896, stock gates, filters. Nothing else. Its not mastered either. Straight off the mix bus so not loud but there's dynamics! Just not sure of the bass levels.

Re: Online Session Musicians - any good ?

Just had a listen to this. Its really good. Your vocal definitely sits better. Nasal vocal is just technique which you'll get better at. What about a couple of singing lessons just to pick up technique like using your diaphragm etc. Also make sure you are singing level with the mic and not up into ...

Re: Top Three Albums of the 60's, 70's, 80's and 90's

One of the main reasons why i have become less interested in buying/listening to music from the last 10 years or so is because of the lack of dynamic range (loudness wars). Occasionally something comes along that I like but it certainly is way less frequent than it used to be!
