Is the A16 Ultra out of production?

Is the A16 Ultra out of production? It's not in the Sonic Core online shop any more (neither at Thomann) and there is of course the A16 MK II now. But it's not listed as a discontinued product on the Sonic Core site. So, do the Z-Link connections on the Xite-1 have any use now? Other than connecting...

Re: Insanic4 Live Improvisation

Really enjoyed your uploads wouterz. The glitchy drum patches are especially inspiring and has got the old cogs moving again. Think I'm gonna try my hand at a patch utilising scope drum modules (then maybe shroomz' blue series and/or cwm modules) triggered via silentway gates in ableton and then th...

Insanic4 Live Improvisation

Here is a live improvisation I made. I use the JazzMutant Lemur to control the digital mixer that runs on my Sonic Core 18 DSP Scope PCI system. The level meters on the Lemur are controlled by a MIDI signal which is generated by a Scope Modular 4 patch that converts the level of the audio signal to ...

Use the following devices: Destination M Destination S External Effect M External Effect S External Master Effect Source M Source S Example: For my MPX1 hardware effect processor I used an External Effect S device, setup the right audio ports and saved the device as MPX1.dev. Now I can drop that dev...

Re: Can Scope receive CV?

The Expert Sleepers ES-3 Lightpipe/CV Interface is a Eurorack format module which converts eight channels of ADAT Lightpipe input to DC coupled outputs. http://www.expert-sleepers.co.uk/es3.html

Volta is a Mac only application but for Windows you can use Silent Way.

Re: TC Electronic Fireworx

I started buying hardware 15 years ago. I never made the switch to software only. I still use all the gear I bought for the last 15 years and with Scope I can integrate them all into one big modular system.

Re: TC Electronic Fireworx

I've been doing some research. I think I can get some weird shit out of this unit :) Things like the routing matrix and FX like the chaos generator in combination with the vocoder and formant filter would get some nice results. And if you connect it using S/PDIF you can use the analogue IO's to add ...

TC Electronic Fireworx

Thinking about getting a TC Electronic Fireworx, I can get one at Thomann for only 759 euro. Anyone got experience with this FX unit? I have a Lexicon MPX1, a Roland SRV-3030 and a Alesis Midiverb4 and of course all the Scope FX devices. Would the Fireworx add something new to my FX setup? I did not...

Re: Dual Xeon or i7

I once build a dual P3 450MHz system with SCSI disks. It made more noise than a vacuum cleaner and by the time I finally had a multi processor OS working with my soundcard and MIDI interface it was time for a new computer. A lot had changed since then and I'm willing to give it another try. But firs...

Dual Xeon or i7

Dual Xeon or i7, that's the question. i7: - Cheaper (compared to 2 Xeons) - Lower power consumption - Quieter (less fans needed) - Feature richer motherboards available (eSata, Firewire, more USB ports) Dual Xeon: - More powerful (but how much when used in a DAW?) Could dual Xeon systems have more i...

The Monotron has a really unique sound. Was that controlled by touching a miniature ribbon..?
Nice experiment.
The Monotron is controlled by a ribbon but if you connect a jack to the aux input and crank up the resonance you get a filter sweep drone sound out of it.

Re: Midi accuracy, midi jitter.

In act, that´s the man who coded the excellent DirectMusic MIDI driver for the Opcode 8portSE 8x8 MIDI interface. AFAIK Steini was in contact w/ him too and after that, the latest driver for Midex-8 came out (v1.92 I think) which is the best ever made for Midex-8. Bud I'm getting a very stable MIDI...
