in recent years i've been using XTC with ASIO of other card and it works!
the cards (scope pci and symphony mk2) are connected via bnc sync, scope being slave.
actually, it's the only way to use XTC in 64bit ASIO hosts as scope v5.1 ASIO driver doesn't open in x64 daws, and scope v7 ASIO although ...

yes, deleting scopeusers.com cookies from browser settings did help
but previously, clicking 'clean cookies' from within the forum login form did NOT help!

Re: ADAT Clicks and noise
it might be not the case
but i used to have two pci cards with adat cables and if the pc was hot, it would start clicking
the remedy was to pull out adat cables slightly, how to say, to put them a bit further for the optical eye to focus better
it was perhaps caused by heat expansion of some ...

thanks, spacef!
i remember that when v7 was introduced they said they've cut some stuff out to make asio less buggy and xtc might have gone with it too. don't have proof it really did though.
now to other things --

yeah well, i think a bit more or less latency does not matter - realtime in a daw does not happen unless it's pro tools hd, or a "bare" scope platform.
i was referring to xtc issues in general and wanted to pinpoint that response time of xtc plugs is extremely short, that is, talking about ...

and regarding this - "The latency was unacceptable and the resources where sparred for a fools dream."
the latency is what you set at ULLI (which applies to ASIO too) - in my case it's 128 samples. how many native plugins do you know that have just 128 samples of latency? in my system, other ...

okay, a word from someone who is using XTC as a primary means of working with Scope
first of all, that's how other dsp cards work - say, TC powercore (RiP), and UAD. it's the only way they work and ppl paid money solely for that single and only means of function. there is no point in arguing unless ...

this
[XTC-Config]
AddHost=0
is VERY relevant even today with nowadays DAWs - if you want to speed up XTC vst scanning, that is not to click mouse on every plugin load.
... and then revert back to 1 once it's done. thanks kperry!

well, there are ways for setup to run properly and install in program files without being right-clicked and chosen to be run as administrator (for a user having admin privileges)
but the s|c installer perhaps uses the old file copying approach which requires elevation or it doesn't work to full ...

hi! which version are you trying to push?
do you run setup as administrator? the v5.1 setup is notorious for being unable to access program folders when not run by administrator. also, do you select xtc components on install?

it's interesting - what it was for and how did they differ from dlls that are installed by s|c installer of version 5.1?
never had any "dual core" issues.
is it something particular about xtc use in v 3.1?

i would advise against following those old guides as the computers and windows have gone too far out to make sense of it all.

xtc works here on win11 after some tricks but it really takes effort - it doesn't endure reboots but for that session it's stable.
