I think it's a great idea!
I would love to see that happen. I was reading a bit through the SDK sub-forums and feel like it all sounds chinese to me (and the problem is that I am not Chinese... well, not that it is a problem in itself but... well you see what I mean )
Thanks a lot Tom. That clears things up a lot to me. However, I won't say I get it all yet. But I surely get most of it :D
So if I run Cubase on a PC, I could use audio or instrument plug-ins that take ressources from the SCOPE boards straight within Cubase? Would that work with any card or ...
SPOTS I am on the OAsys PCI group, I still have two oasys cards in ITOX dragon cases. Don't remember you from that group but I did some sound design for Harm Visser and Norsez. Are you still an OAsys user?
I guess last time I checked/posted on the OASYS PCI Group was something like 3-4 years ago ...
NI had improved the emulation a lot from Pro 5.2 to Pro 5.3 but I assume it is still shy compared to something like the plugs you mentioned (which I find confusing... it seems there are so many of the Prophet line to choose from: Profit 5, Pro-One, Prophet Plus, etc ...
In about a month or so, you'll realize that 4 DSP chips ain't enough and you'll want more. Which means either a used Pulsar or Scope or SRB or XTC or whatever. Then you'll eventually realize that ain't enough either and buy a full-blown Scope Pro and A16 Ultra.

The 25 ...

All I dont understand is why the OSX thing is so much of an issue.
Since it is not only a question of OSX driver but also the availabilty of MACs that have PCI 32 slots.
There are indeed quite a few people with old 9500 or 9600 PowerMacs that run OSX.
Hi SPOTS welcome !!! you claimed to be newbee but you seems to know too much about our plateform,is that a new style ? cheer thanks for the welcome and the compliment :D ;) Actually I like to know what I am considering to buy so I did lurk around a bit on this forum before I posted, and checked ...
That sounds indeed much better than I thought.
However I then don't understand how come they are so slow in releasing OSX drivers and updating their products line.
you are right, we can't compare. In this question, I was only referring to the audio quality of the card (A/D - D/A converters, dynamic, preamps, etc...).
