Re: Looking for a STDM-cable and an analogue cablewhip

OK!

Thank you!

I have a Focusrite with 8 ins and outs (ADAT), but I also use the cablewhip when i'm just using Windows and not doing music.

Re: Looking for a STDM-cable and an analogue cablewhip

To be more specific:

the STDM-cable is for connecting a 15 DSP-card with a 6 DSP-card.
I reckon there is only one type of STDM-cable?

The whip is for the 15 DSP-card. It has:
3 MIDI-connectors (In, out and through).
2 digital SPDIF digital connectors (In and out)
2 analogue RCA Ins
2 analogue ...

Hi fellow musicians and producers!

I would need to buy a STDM-cable and also an analogue cablewhip.
I reside in Sweden.

Please drop a note so we can discuss prices!

Re: Cannot load v4.5 projects into v5.0

Hallo all!

Now I tried to temporarily rename my old v4.5 folder and tell v5.0 just to search in the new v5.0 folder and HEUREKA! It seems to work.

The Pro-12 synth I point to Profit-5 instead, and it loads.

So far so good.

Re: Cannot load v4.5 projects into v5.0

Maybe I am to uninstall v4.5 from the computer?

Now I just have installed v5.0 in a separate folder than v.4.5
Can there be mishaps if I don't uninstall v4.5 before installing v5.0?

But I want to make sure before I remove v4.5 that everything in my old projects (I have plenty!!!) are compatible ...

Cannot load v4.5 projects into v5.0

Hallo all!

I today received my keyfile for v5.0 and I could install it without malfunctions, but:

* I cannot use STS-5000 sampler (which I could in v4.5)
* The Pro-12 synth is not installed either (which it was in v4.5)
* Worst of all, I cannot load a project created in v4.5. The synths (Uknow 007 ...

Just to specify what I did more besides taking RAID out of the equation:

I enabled the swapfile on C: again. 1,5 time my memory (3 GB RAM in XP = approx. 4.5 GB swapfile)

I now run on full resolution and speed on my GeForce 8600GT with two dual monitors in 1680x1050

I put on Jmicron controller ...

yes, the RAID array is a bad idea. just go with a couple of sata drives(7200rpm 8 or 16mb buffer). they're cheap and will work perfectly.

Hi again Gary!

I have four of those 16 MB caches drives! =)

Thanks a lot for your efforts in helping me tonight!

I have read quite a few bad reviews about the Jmicron RAID controller, I would definitely not use it. Do you absolutely need Raid in your configuration? Isn't it enough with a good SATA 16MB, one of those great new drives out there? I don't think you'll get a substantial increase in performance ...

you mention a 'software raid' - that means regardless where the card is plugged in, the CPU has to take care of the drive.
It doesn't really make sense to me that there's a PCIe card controlled by a that program, but possibly I just messed something - anyway software raid means CPU cycles are ...

don't disable the swapfile!

too many tweeks is worse than none.

no ps2? bad choice imho, but a usb mouse should still work just fine. it's very hard to set up or diagnose a machine that you can't see, especially when lots of changes may have been made to the os. in my experience, simple is better ...

ASUS P5K and Q6600 with 4GB memory causes droputs

Dear fellow Creamware-owners!

I own a cherised Scope Professional card.

I've been installing my new computer (see my signature for specs) but I think I have more dropouts now than with my older PC (ASUS P4P800 Deluxe and 2.4 GHz CPU with and AGP card)

I thought it would be great idea to spend my ...
