afaik. Pulsar synths use better algorithms. Ie. most VSTi's are "optimized" using various shortcuts and don't sound as good.

XP is the best os I've used too, but I had to install ME back on the side when I added Luna 2 to the system --> only ONE midi in and out driver works now in XP. Still haven't found / heard a solution for this

Thanks Sub. Cool, maybe I'll wait a month and go straight for a Rambus system afterall, even though it's painful to wait  1.6a was what I had in mind, i've seen the OC tests on that baby with just factory air cooling... some even managed to clock it higher than the bigger brother 1.8a. And I ...

Anyone know what are the best Sonar DMA buffer settings in 24-bit with Pulsar2?

Coz I think my midi and audio are slightly (just barely noticably) out of sync 50% of the time. Could be just my lame duron800+VIAkt133a system though...

Hi, I need to upgrade my system QUICK with a low budget, so I'm thinking about Northwood P4 1.6mhz + Abit BL7 + PC-133 memory (because I already have the memory). Is that a totally bad idea?? Anyone have specs on how that would compare to the same processor on i845DDR ? Main advantages for me would ...

Yes, it'll work. An XTC board works as a 6-DSP upgrade if you connect the two cards internally with an S/TDM cable, which you can get from your local Creamware distributor. If you don't want to use the XTC software, but to simply use those x-tra 6 dsp's in your Pulsar projects, don't install the XTC...

Why P4? Why not the faster and cheaper AMD XP 1900+ or 2000+?

Someone please explain this to me. Don't tell me it's because of PCI bandwidth because KT266a and AMD 761 should have enough.

For use with Pulsar, your processor type doesn't play as big a role as chipset does. I'd go for AMD XP processors because it's so much cheaper and more powerful than Intel, but make sure you get a motherboard with an AMD 761 or Via KT266A chipset.

Which VIA chipset did you use to have?
I know KT133 sucks big time but KT266a is supposed to be pretty good compared to AMD chipset right?
