Yeah, same thing with Sonar.

v3.0 didn't support more than 2 wave drivers as I recall, still it would let you load more (8) of them but there was no sound coming to and from them I think. Do those 8 drivers all work in 3.01? If so, that's improvement.

I've said it before, I'll say it again: RTFM ( = read the **kin' manual ) :wink: Wave destinations show up as Pulsar RECs in any recording application. You can't directly record analog inputs, you have to wire them (via a mixer or other ways) to wave destinations inside Pulsar, just like in a "...

Connect the S/PDIF module in your pulsar project to Wave dest X (or to mixer and the mixer out to wave dest X). Then you can record your S/PDIF input through Pulsar Rec X. (X being number the of wave driver). There's no way you can see S/PDIF input in Wavelab on it's own. Toni L. http://www.mp3.com/...

Well, in my case, with all eye-candy and themes disabled, unnecessary system services and other crap removed, it looks like old Windowses, is not slower, might be even faster than ME, and it's definately more stable. Never seen an o/s this solid. Sure, it doesn't make badly written programs more sta...

Depends on what you want to use the compressor on. If you use it on the entire mix then the delay doesn't matter, so it can be high if you need fast attack. If you use it one one channel only, 1-3ms shouldn't be very audible. Sometimes it's good to use a higher attack time if you want some track to ...

Add a delay effect to your project, wire the outs from Wave source to the INs on the delay, and the outs on the delay to the mixer.

Set the delay time to 2x your sonar latency, dry=0 and wet=maximum, feedback 0.

Yes, when you set the look-ahead to let's say 1ms, the compressor delays the signal by 1ms, buffers it, and compresses it - it doesn't look into the future.

Yes, found it after swearing my guts out a few times. :smile: Sonar triples the negative delay needed to get your audio and midi in sync. Don't know if this is a problem with Pulsar WDM drivers or Sonar or whatnot...anyway there's a simple work-around: Set a delay in your pulsar project to all wave ...

Well now that I found a work-around for a latency correlation problem in Sonar, _for me_, XP works better than any Windows o/s before... ie. lower latency, more accurate timing, better stability, etc. etc...

BTW. from what I hear, XP is safe, stable, produces less heat than TB, faster, and so on, so on... just make sure your memory doesn't become a bottleneck - if you go XP ditch SDRAM also and get DDR memory and a decent mobo.

Oh yeah one more detail, 48khz/16bits.

Could the DMA buffer sizes in Sonar be set wrong by the wave profiler or something?

Greetz, I'm using Pulsar II 3.01, Sonar 1.02, Win XP, Duron 800, Abit KT7,... Everything works perfectly, low latency on the WDM drivers and all (20ms), BUT, Sonar seems to fuck up latency correction. The higher I set audio latency, the more negative delay all the audio tracks must have ofcourse, re...

Pentium IV would probably be better if you choose Intel, but if you don't, XP won't be a bad choice either. Cheaper but LOTS more power than P4. On the other hand some audio sequencing software companies are optimizing their products for Intel right now, though this might change in the near future. ...

MPGA = MPEG Audio = usually MP3.
If your mp3-player doesn't recognize MPGA files, you can change the file's extension to .MP3.

Make sure your WinXP is not in Acpi mode. Go to device manager (Winkey+pause, -> hardware). Find a branch named Computer, and under it you SHOULD have standard computer. If not, double click it and go for update driver, don't search, select standard computer. Otherwise all your PCI cards share the s...

What Sonar version you working? Coz on my Sonar 1.02 and Pulsar 2 v.3 I can't get DXi's to play in sync with my external midi gear or Pulsar synths. Sucks very badly. Probably same thing with audio tracks too, haven't tried yet. My system is 800mhz Duron, Win XP, all XP graphical effects turned off ...
