garyb, yes it is on the task bar and abre11 answered my question. And for abre11's comment about me not searching the forum, I did search the forum but I didn't see it. Just a simple R click tip was all that was needed. Thanks,

Emanuel, garyb and AVM
Thanks for your info. At "infinate Vortex" they say that ATA drivers are from Intel. That's why I don't think they belong on my AMD computer, unless that's the only driver VIA uses.
I'm not going to worry too much about it. I'm just trying to optimize my computer.

I've since heard that ATA drivers set DMA by default but don't display a DMA check box in Disc Drives. Now my question is, should my AMD computer even have ATA drivers?

AMD may have it's own driver, but when I try to load AMD updates I get a message, "no AMD components" I used to have a DMA check box. It went away when this ATA driver arrived

I went to Disc Drive in Device manager and at the choose your own prompt, I got a selction of "Disc Drive", no other choices. Clicking next says " windows will now etc."

I have the first Athlon751 hybred AMD Northbridge and Via Southbridge. ASUS K7M mobo. While updating mobo I got an ATA driver into my PCI bus master controller and both HDs no longer have the DMA option. I read the suggestion in "Infinite Vortex" to uninstall the ATA driver but when I tried loading ...

I just went through the reformat C: experience again and I'm trying to update my 2.1 CD to 3.0. I've downloaded the 3.0 files, but during installation, I'm told to insert CD. to upgrade driver. I found a driver section at Creamware, but they were all dated pre 2000 and I'm not sure which driver to ...

I'm back from GC. Due to wife restraints, I only got one NTK(389) mic with the Presonus M20 Pre(500) and a Yamaha S30 for the feel(750) instead of a S80. Such restraint.
Thanks to all,

Thanks to all,
I'm off to GC. If you have really good credit, GC has a "buy now don't pay til Jan 2003" offer going on. I'm going to make monthly payments to myself til then.

Greg,
Thanks for the tips on Motif. I was just at Guitar Center and I finally learned what a Midi controller like Midiman can do with a sound module like Proteus. The harder you strike the key, the louder a drum sound gets. I guess if you're just working with the computer, a Proteus type module is a ...

Hello all,
I want to integrate a good keyboard controller into my HD recorder/mixer/plus computer DAW. One recommendation was either the Kurzweil PC-2X or the Yamaha S80. I have a good email quote on Motif for $1600 which is in the same price range. Which of these would work best with Pulsar/Emagic ...

Thorkell,
Use 24bitWAV drivers for Samplitude, not ASIO. I just learned how to record on multiple tracks at once with Samplitude. The Sekd forum is very helpful and profesional.Plus there is a nice CD burning wizard.

Ropbot,
Pulsar is a routing program and a sound processor, but it does no audio recording. That is for Logic. Signal travels from Pulsar to Logic via ASIO dest modules and back to Pulsar via ASIO source modules. Here is a link to see some of the ways the Big mixer can be set-up: http://www ...

Matt,
Make sure all your Samplerates are the same. Logic will follow as slave, but if you're using 44.1K, then that should be set on all degital devices, including the soundcard. Also, check "digital" on Hardware settings if you have digital signals coming into Logic.
