Thanks for your help. Does the last two replies indicate that the soundcard is crappy? I don't quite understand. Nevertheless, I never had trouble with latency, so that's ok.

Any views on Cubase/PC vs. Logic/MAC?

Pulsar I quality compared to todays standard!

hello

I have a Pulsar I plus (xlr) card in a 2,4 Ghz PC. I am considering switching to MAC and logic 8 (instead of Qbase). But my card does not fit in a MAC. The question is: How good is my Pulsar I card these days? Has it been overtaken a hundred times by todays audiocards that cost almost nothing ...

Thank you so much Tom. I'll try. The cable is rather new, but again, it would be easy to check.

Thanks again

Yes I did. Before I had it there was no connection at all, but when I got the patch file it worked. But as time went by it became unstabile. Do I need the 3.1 version, do you think.

Btw, do you know the ISA220?

Thanks

Thank you for the messages.

I use Focusrite as master, when it works. I always check when Pulsar is started, if the connection is working (I use digital aes/ebu cable connected from Focusrite digital out to Pulsar I plus in). I know how it works, 'cause sometimes it does, but most times it doesn't ...

FOCUSRITE ISA220 DIGITAL OUT vs. Pulsar 1

Hi folks

I have the above mentioned equipment, with version 3.0 of Pulsar. I had a problem connecting the digital out from the preamp, until a friendly soul from in here supplied me with a new Digital source file for Pulsar. This helped, but as time has passed, it only works occasionally. I have no ...

Tom, it is incredible. I just replaced the bugfixing file with the old one and WHOOPS - digital connection. Thank you VERY VERY much. And I even believe I can tell the difference. Now I can (finally) make some music.

Thanks Tom. But the file is a destination patch. I have no digiout from the computer, it's the digital in that is wrong. I already have a SPDIF source patch, but the one you sent me looks different. If you have a source SPDIF as well, I will gladly have it. And a little question: It must be ...

I'm so happy for your time. Thank you so much.

I have only version 3 of Pulsar. Should it be included here, the patchfile for the digital I/O's. Otherwise I would very much like a copy of the file. Of course I will try with other digital sources, why haven't I thought of that before. Cables are new ...

Hi! I did all this already. Focusrite is the master, optical was via adat1. Still the computer/preamp reacted as I've described.

Hi there

I've tried to connect my Focusrite ISA 220 digital card to my Pulsar I plus from late 90's. Tried the ABU/EBU first, didn't work. Then I tried the optical out, and then I got connection to the sound card but only for 1 second at a time, followed by 2-3 seconds where it didn't work, the 44 ...

Hi Garyb

It says 110 Ohm on the cable, but this was the only AES/EBU cable they had, so I figured it was the right and only one for the machine. Could this be my problem?

Hi there

Thanks for taking the time.

There is no AES IN on the Focusrite, only out + SPDIF OUT and OPTICAL OUT. There is a wordclock in, but that requiers a wordclock out from the Pulsar card, and there is none, as far as I can see.

Hi Garyb!

Thanks for taking the time. Still it doesn't work. I may be a fool at this but please tell me:
Sync to SPDIF in Scope, where is it exactly? I've been to Samplerate settings, tried everything here, nothing works.

On the Focusrite there is no way to make it SPDIF master. I can pick which ...

Hi

I have a Pulsar I card Plus, which means XLR connections and therefore EBU/AES digital I/O. I recently bought a Focusrite ISA220 with AES/EBU DIGITAL to benefit from exactly this option, but Pulsar won't receive the wordclock from Focusrite. I put Pulsar in SLAVE mode and the the 44.1 kHz is ...
